Crap Throwing Monkey Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Never is, Nick! Many European countries held ceremonies...how fortunate we are, having never been a conquered Nation...or suffered the aftermath when freedom came. 704478 Fortunate? This country needs a good, brutal foreign occupation to get it's priorities back in order.
SDS Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Fortunate? This country needs a good, brutal foreign occupation to get it's priorities back in order. 704607 A brutal, foriegn occupation would be well received at my neighbor's house... might as well start there.
dib Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 I am ashamed that I was not near a computer yesterday to start this thread. Thank you boys, and thank you board for remembering.
ACor58 Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Too late. Yesterday was D-Day, the end-all and be-all of WWII. Nothing ever happened on 6/7... 704461 Not true. On 6/7 the French turned back into being ungrateful fu**ing @ssholes!
Crap Throwing Monkey Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Not true. On 6/7 the French turned back into being ungrateful fu**ing @ssholes! 704644 Don't kid yourself. They were never all that grateful to begin with. Particularly the Normans. But then...ever see pictures of Caen, St. Lo, Cherbourg, or Villers Bocage? If the US and Britain bombed you back to the stone age, you wouldn't be grateful either.

Crap Throwing Monkey Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 No I haven't, but it is better than speaking German. 704650 I speak German. It's not that bad. Beats French, at any rate.

When crisis occurs, we stand together. 704661 It's an accurate estimate of our citizenry. People B word when Presidential debates preempt American Idol, for !@#$'s sake. When crisis occurs, modern America turns into a sappy, weepy weak-kneed bunch of pussies. You think this current generation of Americans could storm Normandy? They couldn't even storm Somalia. Your sychophantic and ignorant chest-beating for the WWII generation may be ludicrous...but they at least did have drive and grit and determination. The current generation of Americans defines "sacrifice" as a cell phone with less than a dozen ring-tones and only 30GB in their IPod.

cromagnum Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Thank you, Sybil. 704689 I believe he's right.
stuckincincy Posted June 7, 2006 Author Posted June 7, 2006 I believe he's right. 704700 I don't.
Crap Throwing Monkey Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 I don't. 704703 But we've already established you're a fool. Jury's still out on me, I think...
