Bob Lamb Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 and with the continual "dumbing down" of America - they're getting closer to the truth http://www.suntimes.com/output/novak/cst-edt-novak01.html Current CA. gas price about $3.25 in this area (more?) "California led the national tax revolt in 1978 by passing Proposition 13, which slashed property taxes. Twenty-eight years later, the Golden State will be watched as a test for the political effectiveness of betting against unpopular oil interests despite the downside in public policy. With Big Oil and Silicon Valley facing off, the referendum will be watched by the rest of the country. The Clean Alternative Energy Act would impose a severance tax on California-produced oil (12 percent of all U.S. production) as high as 6 percent, with the expected $380 million a year revenue devoted to producing alternative fuels. That kind of industrial policy excites the interest of Silicon Valley."
Wacka Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Yeah, excites them to move the business to another state.
/dev/null Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Politicians don't think we're stupid, they know we are. Hell, we're the ones who vote them into office
Kelly the Dog Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 If it's any consolation, I think you're stupid, too, Bob.
