KCNC
I'll be making at least one and maybe two trips up this fall to see the Bills play. Gonna bring the wife and kids (ages 10 and 8). Just wondering if you would fill me in on other things to see while in the area. Niagra Falls is definitely on the agenda and the Anchor Bar. But what else is there to do with the family? Thanks guys and gals.

Do not forget your camera and hiking shoes (easy or difficult trails - your choice). If you are not a hiker, a drive through the park is still a great way to spend a day. stuckincincy
The Historical Museum is nice. Albright-Knox art gallery, too - probably not for kids, though. There's the Science Museum as mentioned in a previous post - but I'm not sure how that neighborhood is, these days. Have a chocolate soda at Parkside Candies! And Ted's hot dogs! buffaloboyinATL
Whenever I go back to visit, I eat all I can. Ted's Hotdogs, Andersons Custard, Boccee's Pizza, Mighty Taco, Duffs Wings, Watsons Sponge Candy, Bisons chip dip, etc, etc... Now that's a vacation. nick in* england
There is a great driving tour of Buffalo taking in some stunning architecture - have a look at the tourist board website... Also - the Darwin Martin House is worth a look. It's a seminal Frank Lloyd-Wright building... Can be found on the north edge of Delaware Park. Also - try the wings at Mammosers in Hamburg. ganesh
Since you have young kids, they might like the Lion safari near Toronto about 90 minutes drive from Buffalo.....My kids enjoy it as you get to drive through the safari. Also, the MarinLand was awesome.

Looks like they're doing some serious restoration work on it, but it may be finished by fall. Not sure if the kids would be interested in Wright's design, however the Buffalo Zoo is a stone's throw away. People don't realize what a great zoo it is. Once you have your dates picked out, check local calendars for the various ethnic and street festivals that define Buffalo IMO. I second the Letchworth nomination, especially in the fall. Darien Lake is a pretty decent amusement park, but its no Fantasy Island.

PromoTheRobot
The Fisher-Price Toy Museum in East Aurora. The Naval Park by HSBC Arena. Niagara Falls, of course...the Canadian side. The Buffalo Zoo at Delaware Park. 6 Flags Darien Lake, about 25 minutes east of town. Erie County Fair at the end of summer. In the fall, many apple orchards have family fun days with petting zoos and stuff. PTR

C.Biscuit97
Never done it, but I hear the tour of Forest Lawn Cemetery are really good. It's beautiful there and there is a lot of history. You get taken around on and people act out famous people and events in Buffalo history. Kids would probably like it and get some education. http://www.forest-lawn.com/
