stuckincincy Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 It could be that contemporary readers, the self-styled best and brigthest, turn to the comics for diversion, not immersion in a long-running story line. Why would any remotely intelligent person get any sense of fulfillment out ofa serial strip? 693130 A strip was then and is not now a source of fullfillment. That's today's psychobabble. You somehow can't conceive that folks, before this nonstop innundation took hold, just simply enjoyed reading a story and and looked forward to the next installment.
PromoTheRobot Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Zippy The Pinhead!!! Yowwww...Zombies rule Belgium!!! PTR

Rico Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Best comic that really sucks but you still read it anyways: The Family Circus
The Poojer Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 surprised no one brought up robert crumm or mad magazine comics, spy vs spy etc...and who could ever forget goofus and galliant from the old boys life magazine!
IDBillzFan Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Best comic that really sucks but you still read it anyways:The Family Circus 693156 Between his cartoons of the dotted line showing his kid walking eighteen miles for an ice cube or the cartoons where his son fills in while the dad is on vacation, it's like a Paris Hilton/Lindsay Lohan fight in a nightclub. You want to ignore it, but you just have to look.

The link follows (read them from the bottom of the page up) link
bills_fan Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Spy vs spy was awesome. In terms of my favorite, I'd say far side. In terms of what is the most mainstream and has remained relevant the longest, I'd say Peanuts. http://www.angelfire.com/hi/SpyVsSpy/
ieatcrayonz Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 The best comic by far is Richard Prior. Lenny Bruce, Bill Cosby and Emo Phillips were also quite good.
Ramius Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Don't know. But in the late 70's there was a line of Andy Capp snacks sold in vending machines. The Andy Capp Bacon Crisps were excellent. 693153 Andy Capp's hot fries were the best. they are still around...i think...
