Buffal0 Bill5 Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Wow, tough choice. My Ranking, Calvin and Hobbes Bloom County Far Side Dennis The Menace
KD in CA Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Good list (other than Garfield). I'd rank them: Calvin & Hobbes Bloom County Dilbert Doonsbury B.C. Peanuts The Far Side . . . . Garfield
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted May 17, 2006 Author Posted May 17, 2006 Good list (other than Garfield). I'd rank them: Calvin & Hobbes Bloom County Dilbert Doonsbury B.C. Peanuts The Far Side . . . . Garfield 692706 Garfield jumped the shark quite a while ago but was very good for the first 2-3 years.
The Dean Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 GarfieldGet Fuzzy 692739 Love get Fuzzy. I surprised these haven't been mentioned: Bizarro Boondocks Mr Boffo Non Sequitor (sp?)
BarkLessWagMore Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Great list. Best comic ever probably would be Dilbert for me but my current favorite is Pearls Before Swine. Absolutely hilarious.
Beerball Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 GarfieldGet Fuzzy 692739 Fuzzy is my current favorite too. All time though Calvin & Hobbs.
IDBillzFan Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Impossible to really pick best ever, but no question your list is very good. I would add Foxtrot, Over the Hedge, Get Fuzzy and Pearls Before Swine as some of the funniest comic strips these days. Stephen Pastis, the creator of Pearls Before Swine, is like the anti-comic strip dude. When Blondie was celebrating its 75th anniversary earlier this year, the creators were doing crossover comics where Blondie was inviting people like Jon and Garfield or Broom Hilda to their party, but Pastis wasn't invited, so he spent a week busting Blondie's chops and decided to have his own party, to which only Opus the penguin from Bloom County showed up. Currently the crocodiles living next door to the zebra is some of my favorite stuff. They are absolutely moronic crocs trying to get the zebra to fall for their plots so they can eat him, but they keep killing themselves off. "Hello zeeba naybor..."
smokinandjokin Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Hardly read comics...The Far Side is my all-time fav but I also like Shoe.
eball Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I voted for Far Side, even though I do like the others listed, just because I prefer the quick-hitters. One frame.
