millbank Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 One of the Buffalo Bills most beloved former players will make an important announcement at noon, with coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft attending. It is said that his locker these days is occupied by rookie kicker Steve Gostkowski, so this may be a indication as to which way Doug is leaning. Apparently one may tune in live at noon to Patriots website to hear this most momentous announcement. Doug Flutie
Ozymandius Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I hope he stays. If the Patriots win the Super Bowl this season, Flutie getting a ring would be the only silver lining for me.
Hollywood Donahoe Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I wish Dougie would just quit the drama and retire already so the Pats can sign a new backup.
Dan Gross Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 So, do you think he'll pull a Favre and say "I've called you all here today to say I haven't decided yet..."?
RuntheDamnBall Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I believe the announcement will be regarding his exciting new career as a jockey.

Doug Flutie 691398 I think Belichick is going to have Doug stand with his back at the door jamb leading into the locker room and put a pencil mark with the date and height that Doug was on May 15, 2006.

Doug Flutie 691398 Apparently, he has been replaced by a younger kicker...someone with some upside!
OnTheRocks Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Flutie stepping over his teammates to get to the press conference Mic.
destro32 Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 He's going back to the Mullet to hopefully bring it back into style!!!!!
Like A Mofo Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I thought this was going to be an annoucement that he was joining Mike Williams in Tampa
Billsjunkie Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I can't stand Flutie. I will rejoice when I hear the words that he is retiring. I was never an RJ fan either. Both QBs were horrible. Flutie never had any magic.
Crap Throwing Monkey Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 One of the Buffalo Bills most beloved former players...691398 Yeah. Right.
Buftex Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Flutie will announce his retirement. After the announcement he will give testimonials on behalf of former teammates that "couldn't be here" about his greatness!
Buftex Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Yeah. Right. 691503 What's that they always say, "the back-up QB is always the most popular guy on the team"....

Tom Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Flutie retires, to work as analyst for ABC, ESPN ESPN.com news services FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Doug Flutie retired from pro football Monday, ending a 21-year career in which the Heisman Trophy winner puzzled both opposing defenses and his own coaches with his unconventional style at quarterback.
Buftex Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 So it'll be a short announcement? Damn. I kill me. 691510 Rob Johnson was set to speak, but he tripped on his way to the podium, and cracked a few ribs on his tear stained hanky...
HereComesTheReignAgain Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Hundreds of middle aged fat women who know nothing about football will be crushed! I can hear it now... "but he was so cute and he played in a band"
Crap Throwing Monkey Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 It's rumored he retired because he was upset that Tedy Bruschi took over the title "Our Lord and Savior".
