I didn't watch much of the series because I was working but a good defenceman could change a team and make them better than they are supposed to be. Look at the way Niedermayer is making Beauchemin fly and made Anaheim a much better team. You could even look at the example of Pronger on Edmonton and how down to earth Brodeur looks without Stevens.
