Rubes
Just wondering how long it usually takes? Thanks. 689873[/snapback] If you're in a hurry, there are some services you can find that will get you your new one in a matter of a few days.
HtownBillsFan
I applied for one and got it before my wife got hers back (name change). That was about 4 weeks for me, 6 for her.
smokinandjokin
Typically they tell you 6 weeks. You can pay extra money, I think around $75-$100 to get the process expedited, and you will have it in about a week.
VABills
Not sure where you are but there are some places where you can walk it in and get it the next day. Prior to 9/11 you could get them same day, but the walkin process now does extra checks and takes 24 hours. They do charge a lot extra, but depending on your need (death in the family) it's worth it. Otherwise what they said about 6 weeks. Expedited through the post office is about a week.
