Kelly the Dog Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Sorry if this was posted before. There was a terrific article on Drury in the NYT last week. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/02/sports/h...r=1&oref=slogin It included a story about his teammate at BU, Travis Roy, who was a top recruit just like Drury and 11 seconds into his first shift of his career he got hit and was paralyzed. Drury has remained a great friend to this day and Travis somewhat lives his dreams vicariously through Drury. Pretty amazing guy that Travis, and that Chris. Roy wrote a book called "11 Seconds" that is supposed to be pretty inspirational and has a foundation in his name to raise money for awareness. Here is another story, from the Boston Globe, on 11 Seconds and Travis Roy. http://www.boston.com/sports/colleges/mens..._and_ten_years/
MadBuffaloDisease Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Even though I was always a casual NHL fan, for some reason even when Drury was with the Avs, I always thought he was a classy, as well as talented, player.
C.Biscuit97 Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 From Little League to college to the NHL, the guy is just a winner. Plain and simple.
