frogger
the question, would you use a 3rd rounder, on a player many have considered to be the best to ever play at his college and that college has produced pretty good players (crowell and sharper) The player is Ahmad Brooks, he WAS considered to be the top or 2nd best LB in the 07 draft. But he is entering the sup draft, he has had some off the field issues. And he has more than enough size to play LOLB, at 6'4" 255. without the issues, had he come out this year, he would have been a first round pick, somewhere between 10-20, of course assuming he runs a good 40, et cetera

Bill from NYC
Keep in mind that any pick we give up could be top 5 in that round, if not 1st overall.
Astrobot
I wouldn't draft him, and neither would Levy. Here's more info: Brooks, 20, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge on July 29, 2003. "The Daily Press reports an NFL source with knowledge of the situation said expelled Virginia LB Ahmad Brooks likely will apply for the NFL's supplemental draft, usually held in July or August. The supplemental draft is a route sometimes taken by players in situations such as Brooks. "There's still a lot of interest (by NFL teams) on Ahmad's part due to his natural athleticism," said the NFL source, who expects some team to take a "risk" on Brooks. "The only question NFL teams would have is on his character, his work ethic and his passion for the game. He has a very, very long road ahead of him." Said the NFL source: "The NFL front-office personnel are going to ask themselves, 'If he can't comply with a stringent, professional, rigorous schedule that (Virginia head coach) Al Groh has for his team, then how do we expect him to comply with our rules that we have at this level?' junior
What round are we talking? If it is 1st/2nd I say no. If in the 3rd or less I say yes. Amhad Brooks
