McGahee not at mini-camp

Recommended Posts

I thought it was fairly common for guys from The U to skip non-mandatory team practices and instead gather at The U for workouts with one another (I know Edge has done that). Don't get me wrong, I still wish he'd practice with the Bills, but I thought that missing practices was nothing new for Willis and fellow alums (can you be called an alum if you don't graduate?).

I believe it is. And I know it's not really a big deal but it bothers me. I know those guys work hard but why can't they work out with the teams that pay them. It's not just the working out. It's learning all the details of a new offense. It's about building team chemisty with new teammates. It's about establish ties to a community. That being said, I would train in Miami in the offseason as well (and I'm from Buffalo :w00t: ).

Maybe Gates will show something and get an opportunity.  I'm sure Willis is working out hard and keeping himself in shape but with a new offense and new system etc  it helps him and the team to be there.  It also would help him relationship with the new coaching staff.  Here is my question--what else does Willis have to do?????  He is a professional athlete this is his job!!!!

Besides sitting Losman last year, this was the other little tidbit that really pissed me off. Gates had a terrific pre-season last year and didn't get to touch the ball ONCE last year. At least I don't think he did. Yet, we have Shaud Williams out there, where, if you blow on him he falls down.

Man, I hated Mularkey. I'm not saying Gates is the second coming, but it would've been nice to get some touches, especially when your team was floundering at 5-11.

Neither were Troy, London, and Peerless...

*gasp* maybe they had something else going on!? "Oh noes, teh starz aren't there!?"

It's not natural talent, it's dedication and work. If they miss one practice? not a big deal, if they miss a slew, then you can B word and moan.

Lv-Bills--I agree, the kid looked good, ran hard, etc.. Maybe he really stinks vs better competition so they didn't play him. But if that's the case why did they keep him on the roster? I thought he looked quick, made quick decisions and ran hard. I'd like to see how he has developed over the past year. The less McGahee is around the more chances he gets. We'll see.

Regarding Gates - with limits as to how many players can suit up for a game, OL and injury problems last season, he might just have been the odd man out.

It will be interesting to see what transpires, with the acquisition of rb Thonas.
