bflobart81 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I'm guessing not. Whitner has those "intangibles" that Marv & co. think make up for less talent (i.e. love of the game, addiction to the film room, etc.)
Dennis in NC Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 No. Based on the article about pre-draft visits and so forth (a great article), I would say bringing Huff in was either a diversion - or they wanted to meet him because they did not get an adequate chance at the combine.
I Forgot My Last Username Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 They wanted Huff, but then Mike Williams was spotted in Huff's entourage.
Dibs Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 They wanted Huff, but then Mike Williams was spotted in Huff's entourage. 682119 ....& for a second or two they thought he'd eaten him.

It is hard to imagine they would have passed on him if he was there.
In space no one can hear Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 NO. I have to agree with you on this one. no.

Rico Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Yes. Don't think that Marv was too disappointed or panicked though with Whitner, I think now that he was taking either/or at #8... just a hunch.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Last word on this subject: http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=3743 Donte Whitner was one of the highest graded players on the Bills draft board last weekend... Did the Bills like Huff as a prospect? Absolutely. He was one of the higher ranked players on their board... "Highest" trumps "higher," wouldn't you say?
Rico Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 "Highest" trumps "higher," wouldn't you say? 682734 Only when it's coming from the right media guy.
syhuang Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 "Highest" trumps "higher," wouldn't you say? 682734 but..but...Mort and Clayton said...... You're confusing 75% of the board members.
