Brandon Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Nance is not that fast, more like a 4.65, however he adds height to our camp. I remember earlier in the year, he was considered by some the top senior WR. Love his height, love his production, and hopefully he comes here with the biggest chip on his shoulder and battles, his Soph year was amazing, it say a lot about his character to come back from the injury and play well. 679265 Nance ran a 4.51 and a 4.58 at the combine, plus a 4.56 at his pro day workout.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Please please please give us Anwar Phillips, the Penn State CB. I think he'll be a great player in this league in 1-2 years. 680585 Dear God, dont we have enough secondary players yet?
EC-Bills Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Dear God, dont we have enough secondary players yet? 680626 Well, if we add him, there goes our 2-9 defensive formation. Can we say 1-10 formation anyone?
JPL7 Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 anyone know if mike kudla (DE from OSU) was signed by anyone?
NDBills Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 anyone know if mike kudla (DE from OSU) was signed by anyone? 680710 Kudla went to the Steelers. Too bad, I thought OSU had become our farm team.
Lori Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Time to update this. The current Bills list, from Ozy's DraftDaddy.com AFC link: DE Matthew Rice, Penn State S Steve Paris, Iowa State LB John DiGiorgio, Saginaw Valley WR Martin Nance, Miami (Ohio) FB Derrick Ming, Missouri DE Jason Hall, Tennessee DE Ryan Neill, Rutgers Other reference sources: DraftDaddy - NFC teams KFFL - Hot Off The Wire
buffaloboyinATL Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Damn, the Giants added Sir Henry Anderson from Oregon State. I think he'll make the team and become a player in a few years. He was the other guy I hoped we'd sign besides Anwar Phillips (who signed with New Orleans).
Lurker Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Only new name with any analysis I can find is Denny, who sounds like camp fodder: Chris Denney WR | (6'3", 224, 4.65) | NEBRASKA OMAHA Scouts Grade: 30 Strengths: Possesses good bulk and doesn't get muscled out of routes. Uses his wide frame to shield defenders from the ball, flashes the ability to make the tough catch in traffic and has the potential to develop into a productive red zone target. Played basketball in high school, times jumps well and competes for jump balls. Shows good focus while the ball is in the air, catches the ball away from frame and rarely drops passes that should catch Shows good toughness and isn't afraid to go over the middle. Does an adequate job of reading defenses and generally does a good job of settling into a soft spot working against zone coverage. Weaknesses: Doesn't have great top-end speed, doesn't show a second gear when tracking the ball downfield and will have problems creating separation when running vertical routes. Lacks ideal initial burst, doesn't explode out of cuts and isn't a great short-to-intermediate route-runner. While possesses adequate upper body strength and flashes the ability to get a clean release working against press coverage lacks ideal foot speed and can get slowed down at the line of scrimmage. Lacks the elusiveness to make multiple defenders miss and isn't much of a threat to turn a catch underneath into a long gain. Missed substantial time with a hamstring injury in 2004, missed two games in 2005 and durability is a concern. Played at a small school and there are some concerns about ability to produce working against a much higher level of competition. Overall: Nebraska-Omaha red-shirted Denney during his true freshman season in 2001. He appeared in 11 games in 2002 and he caught 18 passes for a total of 452 yards and two touchdowns. Denney cracked the starting lineup in 2003 and he caught 45 passes for a total of 806 yards and eight touchdowns. He injured his hamstring in the season-opener and missed most of the first six games of the 2004 season. Denney bounced back to catch 22 passes for a total of 404 yards and three touchdowns. He played in nine games in 2005 and he caught 38 passes for a total of 783 yards and eight touchdowns. Denny has the size, power and strong hands to develop into a productive sub-package possession receiver but there are concerns about his ability to stay healthy and his upside is limited by his lack of ideal explosiveness. He projects as a rookie free agent.
