However, the two best in the NFL right now IMO, Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu, were drafted 24th and 16th overall, respectively. With Lawyer gone and Vincent on the decline, it was a need position (among others.) It definitely seems like the Bills went too high for Whitner. Too bad the Raiders effed everything up and passed on a QB to take Huff. Mark Kelso ( ) started four straight Super Bowls for the Bills. I doubt quite seriously if NFL minds knew then what they know today about TP and ER that either would have gotten out of the top 10. Welcome to the draft. Would've thought there'd be more. Hopefully, as a #8 pick, Whitner turns out to be similar to another #8 pick, Roy Williams (only better in pass coverage!) That's a 14%, not bad. Safeties are red-hot this year. This may explain why Marv took the risk on Donte: too many teams were looking for S.
