What the story didn't tell you is this:

 

The Indians' veterans, on one of the final road trips of the season, engage in a bit of hazing for the rookies. Pitcher Kyle Denney, who was the player shot, was one chosen for a bit of the fun.

 

Last night, he was wearing a cheerleader outfit with a blond wig, and high boots. He would have to travel on the team bus and flight in this getup.

 

Since the bullet hit Denney in the right leg, the boots may very well have deflected the bullet enough to save Denney from more serious injury.

 

I just would like to know what the reaction was in the ER when Denney came in.
