justnzane Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 its bad when bills fansites had him rated in the 3rd round... cringes
N.Y. Orangeman Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 On days like these, LA can just have them..
BoondckCL Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Marv, let me tell you, I would not have minded this pick at 14 or 15, but with number eight and no additional picks, !@#$ that. Instead we blew it, I think this is a Dick Jauron pick really and i think this shows of the incompetence that Bills fans can come to expect over the next few years.
damj Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 The Pick was so bad ... Even Boomer didn't know what to say, except that, {to paraphrase}, "Marv won alot of games, so he must know what he is doing"
YOOOOOO Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Now Whitner might turn out to be the great safety.....but he was project to 15-20....why not trade back... I dont understand it......
TC in St. Louis Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Why take a guy who is not even ranked in the top 30, and pick him at 8? Why not trade Leinert to the friggin' Broncos, then pick him at 15? At least then you won't be the laughing stock of the league. I hate this pick with all my heart. I don't get it. It is not anywhere close to value for the 8th pick, I don't care if the guy makes All Pro his first year, it was a bad choice. Ridiculous. Worst pick in the history of the Bills. Value wise.
Fan in Chicago Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Methinks a trade for NC has been done and we will get Bunkley or somebody else. Just a hunch ...
MDH Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Why take a guy who is not even ranked in the top 30, and pick him at 8? Why not trade Leinert to the friggin' Broncos, then pick him at 15? Value wise. 674530 They could have traded all the way down to 15 and still gotten him. I don't care if they only get a 4th to do so, at least that's SOMETHING. Unbelievable.
Larry Playfair Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 I have to know why we didnt take whatever denver or philly was offering and get this guy later. The Bill have to answer this. nothing surprises me anymore with the bills....
damj Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 What a complete, freakin waste. I am pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Virgil Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Usually, there is someone sticking up for the Bills. Personally, I am not one of them. I completely agree that, if this was who we wanted, we could have traded and still got him. I hate this pick, all the eagerness about this draft is gone. I'm not saying we won't get good people later, but i just don't really care right now.
Poeticlaw Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Marv, let me tell you, I would not have minded this pick at 14 or 15, but with number eight and no additional picks, !@#$ that. Isnt the first round the best PLAYER availible and this by far is reach considering they have the Cowboys taking him at 19
Nyghtewynd Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Two words: Utter. Incompetence. But as long as the team is owned by a senile old man, what do you expect? This has Mr. Depends written all over it. 1
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 WHO ARE WE TO COMPLAIN! After all, we're just fans with draft guides, right mark?
TC in St. Louis Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 And we waited months for this pick, finally a chance to get something as compensation for sitting through that horrid season. Matt Leinart was in our laps, with willing trade partners, and we take a guy who is valued as a late 1st round pick. Fire Marv right now.
Max997 Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 and the trade(s) fell apart at the end and they were not prepared and ended up taking the guy they targeted at a lower position assuming they would trade I cannot imagine they think this guy is the 8th best player in the draft, I just cant
Pete Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 They didnt even have a highlight real. Anything to trade down-a 4th, a 6th, a 2nd next year.....!@#$ you Marv- you suck!
udonkey Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Boomer didn't know what to say because the entire ESPN crew SUCKS today...christ, my buddies and I could go up there and be as insightful as they are today. These guys are usually on top of their games, but they don't seem like pros right now...
LabattBlue Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 I hate this pick with all my heart. I don't get it. It is not anywhere close to value for the 8th pick, I don't care if the guy makes All Pro his first year, it was a bad choice. 674530 I wouldn't go that far. If this kid is an All-pro as a rookie, I'll be doing backflips all over town.
