OK so all along I've had an issue with the value of taking Bunkley at #8. I've been an advocate of taking Huff instead because he's "worth" that spot.

 

So I might be coming around to liking Bunkley a little more.

 

BUT - if we want him, there should be no reason to stay at #8 (unless of course no one wants to trade with us).

 

We should trade with either

 

11 Rams - they want Cutler

12 Browns - they want Ngata

13 Ravens - not sure but they might want Ngata too

14 Eagles - I think they want Ngata too

 

Here's the deal, if we trade with any of these teams I do not see Bunkley getting taken until it gets back around to us. Take the worst case, that we trade with the Eagles:

 

1 Texans - Bush

2 Saints - Williams

3 Titans - Leinart

4 Jets - Ferguson

5 Packers - Hawk

6 49ers - V. Davis

7 RaidersV. Young

8 Eagles - Ngata

9 Lions - Huff

10 Cards - Possibly Bunkley but much more likely Cutler / E. Sims

11 Rams - Cutler or Defensive Back

12 Browns - with Ngata gone, pass rushing OLB (E. Sims or Wmbley)

13 Ravens - with Ngata gone, possibly Bunkley but much more likely W. Justice or Defensive Back

14 Bills - Bunkley

 

So we get the same player we got at #8 and even if we only get a 3rd rounder, we get value and the same player.

 

If by some chance we lose out on Bunkley there is always W. Justice or Greenway.

 

If we trade with the Rams or Browns we are virutally guaranteed Bunkley, IMO.
