For no good reason, I'm starting to panic

Recommended Posts

I equate the feelings I am having about the draft this weekend to the feeling I had when the Flyers tied it up at the end of the 3rd to force OT. Absolute dread!!!

But that all worked out ok and I have hope that Marv's first draft will shake out to be possitive as well!

I agree that no matter what, the national media will be all over the Bills (in a negative way). Our free agent pick-ups have been somewhat questionable (at least in terms of the dollars being paid to Reed and Price), but Modrak runs the show with the draft. It should be interesting. I hope, along with most other posters, that the focus is on d-line, o-line and secondary.

On the contrary, as a Bills fan there is no reason to panic.  I fully expect the worst to happen at any given moment, so a good draft pick will come as a pleasant surprise!  :)

What are you afraid of? The Bills sucking more than they do right now?

Relax, Tonto. Tough to suck more than we do right now. And if we DO suck more, just think: 3-13 puts us in top two or three draft picks for next year. Than we can spend all offseason just like we've been doing with this one.

Just give me 2 guys that an make an instant impact. I dont want the brain trust thinking way to much. Get a quality OL and DL and sew up two huge holes, it can be done-if you Billieve my sons.GO BILLS!!!

If you want instant impact you're probably not talking about the O-line - those guys seem to have the toughest time jumping from college to the pros. Very few offensive linemen have an impact thei rookie year. I'm not say it's impossible or that the Bills should address that need in the first 3 rounds, just trying to have people not get suicidal if we go OL and don't get a guy who plays well in his first year.

This is the first time in a few years I honestly have no feelings one way or the other toward the draft. My feelions are I'm somwhere in the middle of  we cant get much worse/I trust Marv to make sound football decisions.

I discount your "honesty", GWB12 - I read and enjoy your posts all the time - you are just as nuts and nail-biting about this as the rest of us! :)

I don't know why.  I'm a big Marv fan, as I've said, I think getting rid of Donahoe - his ego, his decision-making, and his abrasive management style - has to be a net gain for the organization.

That said, I'm all of a sudden freaking out about draft weekend.  For no good reason that I can pinpoint, I'm now convinced that the Bills are going to do something stupid and unexpected on Saturday, like trading down a few picks and then taking Cutler.  I dunno why, I just get this eerie feeling that, come Monday, the Bills will be the absolute laughingstock of the League for a piss-poor draft performance.  Again, I have NO GOOD REASON, NOR ANY GOOD SENSE.  I know I need to shake this feeling, but I can't.  Anyone else having similar premonitions?  If not, care to talk me off the ledge?

If the bills take Cutler I will eat my hat...

Its not going to happen

We are Bills fans. It is natural at this point to panic. Just like we all hold our breath every time our QB drops back, every time our QB throws a pass, every time the opposing team's QB throws, every time the opposing team is facing a third down, etc., etc.

DING! DING!

Amen, brother.

Most snakebit city on Earth. Wide Right. 4 losing Super Bowls. No Goal. Music City Miracle. Flutie/Johnson. Presidential Assasinations. Name it.

Sometimes I feel too involved in things I have no say in, like the draft, for whatever reason i feel I can do better than the GM, and you know what, In TDs case I can, F'n Parrish! anyways we take this far to serious, but that is the fun.

I for one am making a solid effort to not get myself sick on Saturday.

Sure, I was disappointed year after year on draft day, but the 04 and 05 drafts left me particularly ill.

This time, I am going into it expecting the worst. By "worst," what I mean is....Levy will probably spend #8 money on Huff, a safety known for being athletic, NOT for being a hitter. :) Sorry, this is not what a blue collar, cold weather franchise needs to allocate their most vital resources to.

I have been on TSW for many a draft. Never before have I seen so many posters agree that we need to beef up the lines. This is now obvious to even many marginal fans, who already have their poster boy qb in JP. :w00t:

This does not mean that the Bills management will go in this direction. Far from it.

In fact, we might even have a clearer picture of who was foolish enough to draft all of these gadget players, TD or Ralph.
