apuszczalowski
Yes he was coach of the year with the freakin bears, but because he didn't have a winning season any other year with them or in the couple games he coached the lions this year, he's a loser and will be run out of Buffalo soon
Max997
I've heard time and again that players -- current, past, even those on other teams -- just think the world of this guy. How many different players have talked about how they would love to play for this guy? I've been quite impressed at the amount of loyalty he seems to inspire in players. Can anyone recall hearing the same about Mularkey? Before or after he was in Buffalo? 668587 how many players said the same about GW...just because players like playing for a coach doesnt mean he's a good coach
Dawgg
If you saw what he had to work with, you would understand. The Lions were a mess. The Bears were also a mess. Do you remember the last good QB he had? Cade McNown? Jim Miller? Shane Matthews? Joey Harrington? Bellechick would have been a perennial loser with the teams Jauron coached. Dawgg
Perhaps so, but thrusting him in an interim role when 75% of the season is over is not exactly ideal from a coaching standpoint. Not a fair time period to judge him. Bottom line, we'll know what he's capable of shortly. There was, and is, a bunch of talent on the Lion's squad. Too many holes in this team right now. Though if he comes out making stupid decisions and gameplans like Mularkey did, I'm more than willing to throw him under the bus. If the team plays hard and they have a solid game plan (especially adjustments), I will call this year a small success no matter what the record. As for the other post about giving him this season as long as they show they don't make stupid decissions, I agree 100%. But that is the way it should be with all new coaches. You can't access any coach in their first year by win/loss records cause they have not had the proper amount of time to install their gameplan and run it with the right players to be successful. As long as the team shows signs of improvement, plays hard all game, and does not give up on their coach, and the team gets beat on the field and not because the coach is a meathead and his calls cost the team games then I will give the coach another year. Lurker
Unfortunately, the maxim "Nice guys finish last" was the first thing that popped into my mind. I am very prepared to be proven wrong about Jauron, but there isn't really a lot to go on from that. The fact that players like or love to play for him usually centers around being treated as men, being respected as men, and having open communication. It has zero to do with ability as a coach or learning or performance. 668933 Marv Jr.

CaliforniaCheez
In 01 Juron had the Bears go 13-3. He has always been a good coach and coordinator. Marv will have a few chats with him. A good QB will take the Bills a long way and you have Craig Nall!! I believe Juron and Nall are going to make h other look very good. I think many of you underestimate the talent on the Bills roster. I hope Nall has 15 great games this year.
