Pine Barrens Mafia
The jet stream is dug south (a temp forecast map should show this) and that sit'n'spin sumbitch ain't movin. It's a cut-off low. Cya P.S. Since a closed low is defined as a "deep" low pressure system, it can and often does have more than a single isobar around it. 665917 neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerd

Cya Jet stream maps show otherwise, actually. I'm still satisfied saying maybe it's a cut-off low, until I hear from an actual meteorologist. P.S. Since a closed low is defined as a "deep" low pressure system, it can and often does have more than a single isobar around it. 665917 Point being, though, it's defined by being able to draw a single isobar around it. Doesn't matter how many more than one are around it; if there's one, it's a closed low.
Ramius
We didn't listen!! We didn't listen!! That, my friends... THAT is global warming. 665783 No, that looks more like a system of high pressure smug.

That cut off muther makes John Bobbit seem comparatively engaged.

Still, I'm not going to admit I'm wrong because...well, because I'm me.
rastabillz
I'll weigh in and say Simon is closer to the truth although I have been on leave all week and have not been looking at weather charts. The low has been cut-off from the westerlies but will soon (if it has'nt already) be picked up by the jetstream late this week. Looks like it will bring a prolonged period of wet weather to WNY this weekend as it will be a slow mover.

And here I thought it was because you were afraid Ed would add it to the rest of his brilliant sig lines. The fish and I understand each other. Can't promise you won't see that if you fish in the Willamette. The water is nasty.
