BADOLBILZ Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 As long as this team thinks this is a rebuilding year (which it obviously is to me) then I'd put a priority on young OL in the early rounds (as long as there are value picks available when the Bills select) and worry about DT later in day 1. If the DT doesn't pan out it'll be easier to find a DT next offseason than it will quality OL help. The bottom line is the Bills OLine is horrid. There's not a single guy on it that would be a starter on any of the better OLines in the league. 665768[/snapback] Very well put, IMO. Compared to building an OL, bolstering a weak run defense is a quick fix. However, the Bills aren't trying to take the easy route to improving their run defense, they are going to need more talent at DT than if they had decided to go with two big bodies in the middle. Given the current Bills scouting departments mediocre draft record they are probably going to need a lot of cracks at both OL and DT's in upcoming drafts to get this thing straightened out. This situation is very reminiscent of when Greggo took over, you can't ignore it. It would have been a lot easier to plug in a Grady or Big Ted next to Adams instead of replacing Adams and putting 3 of their 4 best healthy defenders (Fletcher/Clements/McGee) into a "cover 2" defense where their skills aren't put to best use.
