marck Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Pick # 8 - Winston Justice - OT Pick # 42 - John McCargo - DT Pick # 70 - Charles Spencer - OG Pick # 73 - Pat Watkins - S Pick # 105 - Jonathan Lewis - DT Pick # 134 - Rob Sims - OG Pick # 143 - Elvis Dumerville - DE Pick # 178 - Gerald Riggs - RB Pick # 216 - DeMario Minter - CB Pick # 248 - Freddie Keiaho - ILB This draft while not sexy does provide the Bills with critical need players with talent and upside. If it were possible I would try and trade next year's # 1 to Denver for the 22nd pick in the draft and with this pick use it to select USC guard Tatusi Lutui, then the Bills could allocate the pick used to select Charles Spencer in the 3rd round and replace that pick with DE Victor Adeyanju. I would feel that by giving next year's #1 although it may be a top 10 pick, would allow the Bills to develop players now and then use the money saved to fill in any gaps in free agency. The roster would look something like this: QB - Loseman, Holcomb, Nall RB - McGahee, Gates, Williams FB - Shelton, Burns WR - Evans, Reed, Davis, Price, Parrish, Aiken TE - Everett, Royal, Euchs OT - Justice, Peters, OG - Lutui, Vilareal C - Fowler OL Depth - Gandy, Preston, Sims, Gibson DE - Schoebel, Kelsey, Denney, Adeyanju DT - Triplett, Anderson, McCargo, Lewis OLB - Spikes, Posey, Crowell, Stamer ILB - Fletcher, Haggan, Dumerville CB - Clements, McGee, King, Greer S - Vincent, Bowen, Baker, Watkins, Wire ST - Mooreman, Lindell, Schenk This is a decent roster and is filled with youth and speed. Moves to make in 2007 would be to enhance the WR and RB positions, add an additional CB is Clements does go away and add depth. I feel that this is maybe a 7 win team this year and will be a playoff contender in 2007. Feedback and comments always welcome
eball Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Good Lord, you draftniks astound me. Predicting picks past the 1st round just seems to me like the most useless exercise imaginable. Kudos to you if you hit on even one of them.
stuckincincy Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 They could use a better FB, and the sense to keep him on the field.

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 It would take alot more than that to get the 22nd pick. Draft picks a year out are valued one round lower, so assuming you're right and it is a top 10 pick. That would be the equivalent of a top 10 pick in the 2nd round. So essentially you're trading a top 10 2nd rounder for the 22nd pick in the 1st round. Be great if Denver said OK. After looking at the draft pick value chart, you likely would have to throw in this years 3rd rounder to even it out. I was so glad to see ZERO Wr's and ZERO QB's on this list and only ONE late round RB. Unless major RFA signings happen shortly before or after the draft I cannot fathom the Bills drafting the aforementioned positions; regardless of the best player available mentality. Again, kudos to you.

Feedback and comments always welcome 664435 I disagree...there are some very sexy picks in there. Have you seen Pat Watkins with his shirt off? Not sure I agree with the selections, though...if you think Freddie "Dey-O" Keiaho is going to be around at Pick # 248, you obviously have only read 14 of the 32 draft previews available at your local newsstand.
marck Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 Thanks for the feedback but the Bills need two defensive tackles, one a one gap and the other a three gap type. Also need two guards, one to start and one for depth. No need for any wide receivers as we already have two rosters full. Other then that I see no problems. My choice : Pick # 8 - Vernon Davis TE Marylan Pick # 42 - Gabe Watson DT Michigan Pick #70 - Jonathan Scott OT Texas Pick #73 - Bernard Pollard SS Purdue Pick #105 - Rob Sims OG Ohio State Pick # 134 - Miles Austin WR Monmount Pick # 143 - Keith Ellison OLB Oregon State Pick # 178 - De Arius Howard RB Arkansas Pick # 216 - David Irons - CB - Auburn Pick # 248 - Mike Degory C Florida 664530

BillsGuyInMalta Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Pick # 8 - Winston Justice - OT Pick # 42 - John McCargo - DT Pick # 70 - Charles Spencer - OG Pick # 73 - Pat Watkins - S Pick # 105 - Jonathan Lewis - DT Pick # 134 - Rob Sims - OG Pick # 143 - Elvis Dumerville - DE Pick # 178 - Gerald Riggs - RB Pick # 216 - DeMario Minter - CB Pick # 248 - Freddie Keiaho - ILB 664435 GREAT first five picks, I dig them a lot. I've done a little more research on McCargo lately and like what I've read about him. The only problem I have with the draft is (and its been mentioned in this thread before), a lot of your later picks have no chance of being there at that round. Although to give you another prop, Gerald Riggs is a good selection in the 6th...thats fairly accurate where he'll go.
