2003
1.) *** f/MIN***- Donte Whitner S, OSU- http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...ntewhitner.html Think Antoine Winfield, but as a safety. 2a.) Mathias Kiwanuka DE, BC- http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...askiwanuka.html I am shocked that he has fallen this far in many expert's mock drafts. I think he would be an upgrade over Kelsay/Denney. 2b.) ***f/MIN***- Jonathan Lewis DT, VTECH- http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...athanlewis.html Solid, disruptive DT that could be a starter on day one. 3a.) Ryan O'Callaghan, OT, CAL-http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...ocallaghan.html Solid run blocking OT that provides excellent depth. 3b.) Devin Hester, CB, MIA- http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...evinhester.html Need many solid CBs for the cover 2, and he will be a solid CB. 4.) Fred Matua, OG, USC- http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr.../fredmatua.html Provides depth for the O-line. 5a.) Leon Washington, RB, FSU- http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...washington.html Has good hands and is a quick back. 5b.) Brandon Marshall, WR, UCF- http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...onmarshall.html This guy will catch some jump balls. (6'4) 6.) Lawrence Vickers, FB, COLORADO- http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...ncevickers.html A fullback that can practically do it all. 7a.) Jason Hatcher, DE, Grambling ST.- http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...sonhatcher.html A sleeper at his position who could bulk up and play DT. 7b.) Manase Hopoi, DT, WASH- http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...anasehopoi.html Can play all Dline positions and had a good junior season. Ozymandius
I like this draft. At #8 overall, we're slotted in a position where we almost have to trade down to get the full value of our first rounder. I like the makeup of this draft. I like Whitner at that spot, saving us from a season of witnessing Bowen/Wire screwups. I really like Kiwi and agree that we need to get an LDE that can rush the passer for this defense to work. I do think you need to get another DT early, probably in place of Hester, who might never be anything more than a dangerous return man. And I don't think we're interested in another WR. Astrobot
I like Jonathan Lewis as a mid round DT pick and Matua as a good value pick at OG. Most posters are going to think taking our 2 line needs this late is risky. I'd like to see this trade. I like your big WR drafting too, and a FB drafting. Most original draft yet. Astrobot
By the way, in drafting Devin Hester, I think you also drafted the fastest guy in the draft, either that or the best return man in the draft. If you don't have Nate Clements, you just got us a backup for our #1 CB, who dam well better not be returning kicks!

If the draft plays out the way that it has been mentioned, it might be possible.
34-78-83
The Vikes would have to give up more than just their 2nd to move from 17 to 8 for me to be happy

He is an absolutely horrible CB.
