Astrobot Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 I'm listing the 6 players in each round I'd most love on my team. They would fit well in our scheme, are character guys, and would be great picks at that point in the draft. I've left off unrealistic picks. I would like your comments/ substitutions/ round switches/deletions. --Astro Round 1 ---TE Vernon Davis, ---OT D'Brick, Justice, ---OC Mangold, ---DT Bunkley, ---S Huff Round 2 ---OT Daryn Colledge, Whitworth, Jon Scott, ---DE Darryl Tapp, ---DT Jesse Mahelona ---S Darnell Bing Round 3a ---OG Fred Matua ---DT Jonathan Lewis, Steve Fifita ---CB Devin Hester ---S Pat Watkins, ---WR Hank Baskett Round 3b ---DE Elvis Dumervil ---OG Deuce Latui, Mark Setterstrom ---OT Willie Hall, Guy Whimper ---WR Brandon Marshall Round 4 ---DT Barry Cofield ---OT Rashad Butler ---TE Joe Klopfenstein ---WR Devin Aromashodu, Martin Nance ---RB Mike Bell Round 5 ---RB Cedric Humes ---FB Matt Bernstein ---OT Jahri Evans ---OG Rob Sims ---OC Pat Ross ---CB Levonne Rowan Round 6 ---QB Paul Pinegar ---DT Tommy Jackson ---S Dwayne Slay ---RB Wendell Mathis ---OT Adam Stenavich ---OC Chris Chester Round 7 ---WR Ashlan Davis, Delanie Walker ---TE Anthony Mix ---DT Jeff Littlejohn ---CB Anthony Madison, Clayton Farrell

ndirish1978 Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Deuce Lutui will never be around in the 3rd rd.
Astrobot Posted April 14, 2006 Author Posted April 14, 2006 Thanks. Will change Lutui. And, yes. I know all of these players personally.
Dennis in NC Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Deuce Lutui will never be around in the 3rd rd. 662194 ditto to this. What about OG Davin Joseph in the 2nd? A Mangold pick would have to be down in the 20s I think. The signing of Fowler gives us a legit center IMO. Less urgency to get Mangold. I don't like OT Justice at #8, maybe at 10-15, though.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 No love for Davin Joseph in the 2nd? I'd honestly take him above all of those guys (aside from Bing). EDIT: Oooooo Dennis snuck in ahead of me with the same idea.
Astrobot Posted April 15, 2006 Author Posted April 15, 2006 Somebody will have to convince me that Davin Joseph has the work ethic to be a consistent player. Does he take plays off? Would we get the Davin Joseph of 2004 or the Davin Joseph of 2005? Good point on Mangold, although he'll be better than Fowler. Lutui will probably go in the late 2nd Round. Astro
Olaf Fub Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Ourlads has the Bills taking TE Joe Klofenstein in the 2nd round. I don't know anything about him. (Other than what I read in Ourlads) You seem like a big time draftnik Astrobot, so I'd value your opinion. Why do you like him? What kind of player do you think he'll be in the NFL?

Round 1 ---TE Vernon Davis, ---OT D'Brick, Justice, ---OC Mangold, ---DT Bunkley, ---S Huff 662145 Um...I don't want to be too negative but...(gee that sort of statement usually is followed by something really, really negative ) I don't get your criteria... Davis, D'brick, Huff...even Justice & Bunkley are widely considered to be Top 10 but Mangold???? Justice has maturity & character issues ....from Scout Inc... Weaknesses: Justice can still afford to add some bulk to his frame. He must also continue to improve his overall technique, including his first step and hand-usage as a blocker. He has some maturity issues. Comes with major character and mild durability baggage. Had surgery on his right shoulder in 2003 off-season and ankle sprain during the 2003 season. Was sentenced to probation after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor count of solicitation of prostitution in July of 2003. Also charged with three misdemeanor counts of exhibiting a replica firearm in March of 2004. I don't personally know enough about the later draft candidates but....

I would substitute Ngata in there over any of them except D'Brick or maybe Davis. Also, I read that Tapp is being mentioned as a Corey Moore clone & may be there on the second day.
