With all that has transpired recently...

Having returned refreshed and refocused from my site induced sabbatical, I am admonishing the greatness of the Red Dragon and Pass the Pipe to resume the activity of providing their keen and often incomperable insight to the denizens of TBD.

First I must thank the leadership of thie board for affording me the opportunity to spend my suspension in the company of a couple of lovely southern bells from the tiny hamlet of Gastonia North Carolina. Finer examples of American beauty showing such generosity would be hard to locate. While pleasantly engaged in relaxation techniques perfected in the orient, I did have some time to observe in amazement but more so in horror at some of the thoughts shared on this very site by members revered for their contributions to the wall.

On the topic of Ralph's ultimatum and thoughts on what is happening with the collective agreement and impacts to the city and franchise; Ralph was hailed as an inspirational leader that was fighting for the little guy, showing the courage of David and he stood toe to toe with the Syrian Goliath. Such brovado at his age - magnificent. To you I say - this man has done well by the sity of Buffalo for keepiong the team in it for so long, and at least during one period in the clubs history, provided a good product that the city could be proud of. On the other hand, mr Wilson has grossly mismanaged this business. He failed to capitalize on the successes of the team or the NFL in general. Even in the city of Buffalo - it could and should be worth another $50 to $100MM. Plainly and clearly to anyone operaitng a business, he left far too much money on the table and should not hold the city of the league accountable for his mismanagement. Why only a few short years ago, Mr Wilson was hailing the wonderful job Tom Donohoe had done turning the franchise around and getting it back to fine shape. In this instance, are we to assume that Ralph didn't actually know what was going on? Perhaps so, and in the end, another example of the poor business skills shown. I applaud the mayor of Buffalo for taking his stance - the team will not hold the city hostage.

On the topic Peerless Price - there is no practical way that anyone can support this signing, especially at the dollars involved. Simply put - the man has lost a step and his confidence and in all liklihood will be cut before September. Shame on Marv for trying to catch lighting a second time with this player.

The BIlls are today an organization primed for lows not seen since the Kay Stevenson era. During this difficult economic time in WNY, I fully expect the Bills to surface the the popular choice next season to be named to move to another city. And rightfully so - the economic strata of WNY is such that it cannot support ticket prices starting at $60 per seat. Along that path, the city may not be the right place for a franchise today.

To the Red Dragon and Pass the Pipe, I await your insights and what the future might bring.

Fumbles,

Your desperate plea has been answered. In complete honestly, the actions at One Bills Drive do not surprise me in the slightest bit. On a positive note, I am happy to see that Levy did not compound his mistake in losing the big FA defensive tackle to Green Bay by signing some “Johnny come lately” to appease the constituents in Western New York. It appears to me that he has defaulted to rebuilding mode and, as a result, properly jettisoned Moulds and his contract. Levy’s big examination comes next Saturday and if he listens to me, and you (I saw your mock post), he deals the pick to get another player in the top 50. This team has more perforations than the chest and neck areas of Dick Cheaney’s hunting partner, 2 & 14 or 1 & 15 is a very realistic forecast.

On the comedy side, trying to misrepresent the abilities of Craig Nall and extolling the virtues of a blocking tight-end in our morbid offensive deserves the grade of F from a Buffalo State professor let alone Harvard. The Price signing doesn’t warrant a response, the energy in my fingertips is better spent picking my ass.

Regarding Mr. Wilson, the more he opens his mouth the less I like him. Seeking guidance from any politician in NYS is pure insanity. I read an article recently in the Economist that referred to the economy of Upstate NY as Appalachia and all thanks to the local and state governments and this is whom our owner is reaching out to? Believe the Pipe, this is a Wilson smoke screen to ease the criticism his family will receive when the sell the team Anscwitz (sp?) in Los Angeles.

As far as I am concern, let them move the current product is no longer digestible. I live in LA and would enjoy the fact the Bills and Braves have joined me in this wonderful place. I echo your opinion of North Carolina women, some of the finest in the land.
