plenzmd1
That unexpectely Changed America. Anybody else watching this show on the History Channel. Dam, is it well done. Just finished watching the one on the Mystic River massacre of the Pequot, and it was awesome. Liked how they gave both sides of the story, and at the end making the case that both sides thought they had the moral right to do what they did,and that no one was all good or all bad in this episode in American history.Amazing correlation to our current troubles in the world. As a side note, remember reading bout the Peqout when they opened Foxwoods, and remember thinking not fair they get all these tax breaks etc, especially cause there was only like 30 at the time living on reservation land.Figured these were just some smart business men who found a loophole in the law. Also was pissed how many people then claimed Peqout heritage once the casino became profitable, but see that in a differant light now. Also watched last night episode on how the Gold Rush changed american history. Fascinating show, somewhat reminded me of that old BBC show Connections. As an aside, cool last night as I watched Lost and NF was shown, and in this episode of 10 days, detailed the trials and tribulations of a guy from Youngstown. Two WNY references in one night, pretty amazing. Eh Cinci, I think even you might like this show

Might save some of them for the off days in the hockey playoffs, cause in a two month run lots of off days

Beerball
Been a busy week from a family perspective, but I have caught a few. Last night's piece on the steel workers strike was well done. Other than that I've only caught bits and pieces. Good thing about History Channel though...they'll be back.
stuckincincy
That unexpectely Changed America. Eh Cinci, I think even you might like this show 660874[/snapback] I recorded the Scopes episode. It will be interesting to see if they present the facts - Scopes being recruited by the ACLU and handed a cushy academic job after he served their purpose, Darrow dropping out of the case, etc. Their "The Presidents" series is worth watching, too. I'd love to see someone re-broadcast Fred Friendly's series: "The Constitution - That Delicate Balance". The book, co-authored by Martha Elliot, is a fascinating read... Pine Barrens Mafia
The Carnegie one and the Elvis one were very good, I liked them! The other week they had a show on that linked the Ba'ath Party's history to the Nazis.
