The Jokeman Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Do you think the scene of the car stuck in the snow happened in Buffalo? Nice shot of Niagara Falls... 660960 I'd have to rewatch the scene to see what liscense plates the cars had but I definately had that thought run across my mind.

Definetly the blue and white plates, thats NY right? Also, street sign is Fleetwood Ave, and its a one way, and looks a lot like Elmwwod Ave down in Allentown near da Brick bar. Thats a one way there isn't it? Been a while. Wow, Buffalo getting a shout out on lost, very cool. wonder if one of the writers from WNY? BTW, roses plate # BNQ-1925 EDIT, just watched again, later in the scene can clearly see New York on the plates

No steam coming out of their mouths and the lighting is too good. The Falls scene may or may not have been shot on location, but I doubt it. Probably the Falls was added in later.

bobblehead Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 That topic came up in the discussion after the episode where Jack's wifey-poo leaves him. It would be extrememly LAME for someone on the island to be that guy.... 660908 I bet it's Desmond.

From the angle of the view it would seem that Rose and Bernard are at the "Top of The Falls" Resturant on Goat Island. I wonder how much research the writers did to make it seem like it was filmed in Buffalo/Niagara Falls? Just an aside, being from Niagara Falls myself, I do not see "the Falls" as that big a deal, since I lived within a 15-20 min bike ride from it, but, people that are not from the immediate area, like Rose (maybe) could see it in a different light than the locals... If the writers have another background episode of Rose and Bernard planned maybe they will include the Senaca Casino next... I wonder if the local papers Niagara Gazzette or Buffalo News will have anything about Niagara Falls being shown in this episode. I really doubt that!

But being a resident of the Falls growing up, coulnd't remeber. But, now that I think of that scene, both falls visable out of the window to the right, if on Goat Isalnd would have been one to each side. Lordy, what does it matter, its just where it was supposed to be. Wow, maybe it really was a soundstage, imagine that!!!!

Also if the island heals everything, why does Sawyer still have to wear glasses?
Lurker Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Also if the island heals everything, why does Sawyer still have to wear glasses? 661100 So other Lost-aways can make fun of his looks.
CosmicBills Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Wow, Buffalo getting a shout out on lost, very cool. wonder if one of the writers from WNY? 661003 One useless bit of trivia I do know about the show was that originally Sawyer's character was supposed to be from Buffalo. However, Josh Halloway (the actor who plays Sawyer) couldn't do the Buffalo accent in the audition so he just improvised and did the southern one we have grown accustomed to. The producers liked him so much, they just changed his back story a bit. So it didn't suprise me to see WNY get a shout out. I don't know if any of the show's producers/writers are from the area, but I can try to find out.
Dr. Fong Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Also if the island heals everything, why does Sawyer still have to wear glasses? 661100 Remember the healing man said that certain places/energies work for certain people and don't for others.

Thats what got me wondering what restaurant they were in. If they were on goat island, the american falls would be flowing from right to left.
Crap Throwing Monkey Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I wonder if Bernard and Rose are Bills fans? 661217 Stuck on a desert island with other lost souls, waiting for rescue? Hell, maybe they're ALL Bills fans. Maybe that's the whole point of the show.

Catholic Guilt Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I wonder if Bernard and Rose are Bills fans? 661217 Rose - "Bernard, you are giving these people false hope!" These are not the words of Bills fans.

Maybe some connection to the "black rock" theme.
