rockpile Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 In the past two years, TBD has raised over $1,000 sponsoring money me when I do the annual MS Walk. About half of those folks NEVER met me in person, but still sponsored me. That is a family thing. Thanks!
gantrules Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 Mine was when some little jerk hit my daughter in the face. It wasn't anywhere near the loss of a loved one but I got a lot of ideas from the feedback you gave me. TBD Rocks!!!!!!

Just wondering....ooops, this was supposed to be the happy thoughts thread!
R. Rich Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 I had every reason to be skeptical of meeting people from this board, but once I did, I found they're great people. We're all Bills fans who lead different lives and thus have different experiences and points of view to share. That is what makes this community of ours special. We support each other in times of need and cheer the individual successes we have from time to time. The list of people I've met from the board and have gotten to know as friends is long (getting longer by the tailgate) and for that, I could never thank you all enough. I've been able to help some of you out with game tapes, photos, game tickets, or whatever else and have also received CDs, game tapes, trading cards, recipes, and well wishes from you guys also. That kind of give and take is why I still come here. This isn't my home away from home; this is a home to me.
gantrules Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 We stopped watching him the week after it happened. It was something that my family wasn't going to be able to put aside.
#89 Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 this place saved my life. I would have lost all hope if not for you all. I found you when I was a happily married Bills fan and would sit at the computer and just laugh. My husband would be watching TV and ask what was so funny. He never read this Wall. When he became ill you were there for me. When he died you were THERE FOR ME BIG TIME. I printed out that Thread when I told you all Larry had died. You helped me mourn. You made me smile. The roses that were sent on behalf of the wallers were shared by his loved ones and mine is dried and by my computer. So many great friendships have formed. Boston doc wrote me support daily and I truly needed it. The knowledge of the people here is unmatched. Randy my Dr in Jacksonville helped me with some medical questions for my sister's scare and for mine. At least we knew what to ask the Dr's and then he explained what we really didn't understand. I love when the Bills are winning and there is the lightheartedness on here. When we help each other out and pick on each other in jest. stevestojan and Rosen for posters names. Come on people lighten up again. The Gus thread, GUFF's 9/11 thread and just the reminder gave me goosebumps. I remember that I was typing info as fast as I could because we have TV's in the Dub center. It was unbelievable. The FAT threads were great. Reminded me of the old times. Happy that we have the PPP board that I do not read and the PM's so we can get up close and personal. Having met many at tailgates and at lot 1 pole 6. That the guys are willing to be hugged and even some of the girls. Heck even some of the kids got use to me hugging and NG's son Danny just looked at his DAD the first year. I think the hugging got better after I got the moulds jersey signed for him. Sometimes a good hug gives great bebefits. RIGHT JAY? I found out he has a hairy chest. hubba hubba. OK too many threads to say but I just LOVE THIS PLACE and I'm glad I decided to read this thread.

Sometimes it helps to remember how good we have it here! Thanks Scott! Ok, When I hit the "add Reply" button this page will go back on the front page. My advice to everyone here... When you are having a bad day, picture your self naked. When it get right down to it... we all look a little bit funny naked!

DC Tom Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 The truth is that this board is a family... and sometimes families bicker, B word and fight with each other. That's what is happening now! However, when the chips are down and a TBDer needs help or advice (or even a shoulder to cry on)... This board has never, EVER, turned it's back on someone in pain. 48773 For all the crap I gave stevestojan today, he'd do well to remember that I and a lot of others were positively encouraging him to get the hell out of dodge with a hurricane bearing down on him. Lots of times this board is just a board. But like you said, when the chips are well and truly down, it's usually something more...
_BiB_ Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 I like to be hugged. 50044 But wouldn't people talk? Oh, that wasn't to me. My bad. I sure know some folks damn well came out for me. I'm very honored to have them as friends. Y'all take a bow.

Well what about everone else first for once. You are a self centered, egotistical, infantile jerk.

#89 Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 CAN we get the- >< -smiley from Yahoo and a bunch of other places I love that one
_BiB_ Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 I hug just about everyone. Don't take it too personal. 50488 Just don't sqeeze me too tight. Hey, I didn't get that info yet. You check your email?

OK too many threads to say but I just LOVE THIS PLACE and I'm glad I decided to read this thread. 49703 This place has helped me celebrate the best times, grieve the worst, and enjoy those in between just a little bit more. I will always be indebted for that. And there isn't much that beats a good hug.
Dan Gross Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 As an old friend of mine was fond of saying: "There's no such thing as a hug without a smile attached to it."
outsidethebox Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 I don't post as much as i used to, although I try to lurk as often as I can. I have met a few of the TBD posters at the friday garbage plate get togethers at Nike's. Then there the other ones I have never met but it feels like I know them from some of there posts. I have seen everyone come together in times of trouble for other members and I have seen some posters getting a much deserved RED ASSING (is that a word?) when needed. Above all, I think of you folks as part of my Bills family and look forward to meeting more of you in the future. In the immortal words of Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?"
_BiB_ Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 I like to get along. sometines a short 51917 That anything like a quickie?
