Tipster19 Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I thought that we looked at the last 7 drafts to see what players were taken at our current draft pick numbers, we would either feel excited or disappointed. I realize that there's a very good chance of feeling both. Take a look for yourselves and tell me how you think we will do in this year's draft. 1999 #8-WR David Boston #42-TE Reggie Kelly #70-DE Jared DeVries #73-OLB Joey Porter #105-WR Brandon Stokley #134-RB Cecil Collins #143-T Jerry Wisne #178-CB Tyrone Bell #216-SS Anthony Poindexter #248-DE Bryce Fisher 2000 #8-WR Plaxico Burress #42-DT Cornelius Griffin #70-WR Chris Cole #73-WR Ron Dixon #105-OLB Brandon Short #134-CB Anthony Midget #143-WR Windrell Hayes #178-DE John Frank #216-DT Delbert Cowsette #248-G Lewis Kelly 2001 #8-WR David Terrell #42-OLB Tommy Polley #70-OLB Sedrick Hodge #73-OLB Eric Westmoreland #105-G Bill Ferrario #134-LB Jeremiah Pharms #143-SS Jarrod Cooper #178-FS Tony Driver #216-K Owen Pochman *There was no pick at #248. The draft ended at #246. 2002 #8-SS Roy Williams #42-DT Larry Tripplett #70-SS Willie Offord #73-OLB Will Witherspoon #105-CB Brian Williams #134-DE John Taylor #143-OLB Scott Fujita #178-T Matt Anderle #216-QB Seth Burford #248-T Kyle Kosier 2003 #8-T Jordan Gross #42-FS Ken Hamlin #70-MLB Gerald Hayes #73-T Wayne Hunter #105-RB Onterrio Smith #134-FB Ovie Mughelli #143-WR Justin Gage #178-CB B.J. Tucker #216-T Ben Johnson #248-DT Davern Williams 2004 #8-CB DeAngelo Hall #42-DE Travis LaBoy #70-CB Joey Thomas #73-CB Keith Smith #105-WR Samie Parker #134-WR Johnnie Morant #143-SS Erik Coleman #178-T Marko Cavka #216-WR Patrick Crayton #248-QB B.J. Symons 2005 #8-CB Antrel Rolle #42-OLB Kevin Burnett #70-MLB Channing Crowder #73-RB Vernand Morency #105-T Ray Willis #134-G Claude Terrell #143-G Junius Coston #178-DT Anthony Bryant #216-DT Kevin Vickerson #248-T Patrick Estes Well, there you have it. There has been good, solid early picks and there has been great value picks later in the draft. One thing is apparent, you can make a poor choice at any point of a draft. Good luck to the Bills this year in the draft and I hope that you find this an interesting read. Thanks.
RuntheDamnBall Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I'll be very excited if we can acquire the next Anthony Midget.
TC in St. Louis Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Good work there. It just goes to show you what a crap shoot the draft really is. It takes more than talent to win. Patience, player development. Think about John Parella. What a different DL we'd have had if somebody could've talked him off the ledge.
