YellowLinesandArmadillos
I know the rhetoric on all sides seems just a bit...a bit rediculous, I am tired or it. Set up a workable law, the Senate thing sounded okay?...build a fence and send a letter to Mexican President Fox with a published list of suggestions on how he could clean up the corruption in his government and police force, starting with him resigning himself. The Mexican Constitution thing could aslo be on that list, but who really wants to live in Mexico, the poor sure want out. The rest of the debate is as inane as the school kids at the LA rally flashing gang signs. Yet, this is all a joke, forget the rallies, this is won't change anything anyway and it both sides will use it as good campaign fodder when they think it works to their advantage. Next thing you know there will be another Abramoff ripping off the Mexican American Immigrants on this issue and it will probably implicate the rest of the Republican and Democratic Leadership. Follow the money and watch for educational freebee trips to Cancun by Members!
ExiledInIllinois
If any of those kids are in shop class, their rallying for people that will either lower their wages or take their jobs ..... Politicians and employers must be laughing their asses off right now.... 657867 They (most schools) don't have shop class anymore... Get with the program. Bill from NYC
I love it.This is just the latest wedge issue dreamed up by the politicians. 658495 This is not that simple Debbie. Don't get me wrong, I agree with the rest of your post, especially the part about gay marriages. If you google "Farmingville," a town on Long Island, you will see that the residents themselves (many of them hispanic) have been battling this issue for years, as have others around the country. In Farmingville, it is not unusual for 50 or 60 illegals to rent a house on a residential block. They require new cesspools every year, and I have seen pictures of exposed wiring, etc. They often use back yards as bathrooms. Not a pretty picture. When County Executive Steve Levy (a Dem. and my favorite politician in America)condemned some of these flophouses, he was promptly accused of (by the left of course) "ethnic cleansing." You may not want to hear this, but this is an example of how Alaska Darin is correct. Repubs want illegals because they provide cheap labor to their rich friends, and help bust unions. Dems want them for the above, and to kiss the asses of minority voters who they assume are behind the illegals. Plus, they view them as potential voters. Rest assured that neither repub nor dem pols will have a view of illegals pissing as they drink their morning coffee on their patios. They are removed from this, and will not offer help to the American Citizens as jobs are taken, and WE pay the cost of the free medical care provided to those who invade us. This stuff has been going on forever... First off, historically, who do you think replaced the African-Americans in their menial jobs and then climbed the social latter at their expense? Didn't it all start with the Irish and Italians pulling it off at their (African-Americans) expense?

Illegal Aliens violated our borders to get here, and we "punish" them with free medical care and other benefits. Forget corrupt politicians, if you think that a majority of African American CITIZENS want illegals in this country, I think that you are nuts. A funny, nice guy, but nuts. I took shop classes, summers, I worked on construction sites...Alot of blood and sweat, so the politicians and business man can reap the rewards........ Like A Mofo
This whole thing is unbelievable... My wife just got her green card recently (she is from the Philippines)...we went through all the paperwork, all the hours of waiting in lines, paying all the fees, calling the USCIS hotline and waiting hours on hold to answer just a few questions...how come these ILLEGIAL immigrants think they can just DEMAND to become citzens like that?? My brother in law in the Philippines is attempting to get a visa to come here for a visit...and he cannot get one at all...he is attempting to do things the RIGHT way and he cannot get in...so I guess it is better to sneak in through Mexico, DEMAND rights when they are ILLEGIAL in the first place??? WTF?!?!? If we do this, why even have illegial immigration in the first place? Just open the borders and let everyone in.

They're just re-populating the land we took from them. La Raza -- The Race Imagine if a white organization called "The Race" existed. Imagine the hue and cry. Yeah, there's no double-standard in socialist liberalism, is there?
KD in CA
It'll be outsourced to the newly arrived Indians & Chinese. 658497 Yeah but will they be 20 year old Indians and Chinese in short skirts? If so, I guess it's ok.
Ghost of BiB
I watched a little of the C-Span coverage on the DC rally last night. A high school girl from Woodbridge gets podium time? Wonder if she got extra credit. What was really sort of cute, is her comments in English were sort of ignored, but when she spoke in Spanish, the crowd roared. Vive le revolution! Wacka
Here in CA, EVERY fast food place (even the Chinese fast food chain) has hispanics working behind the counter, all the way up to manager. It was nice when I visited for Christmas in Buffalo to be able to order without having to speak slowly. My town has few hispanics, but the fast food places are full of them. I swear I get worse service walking into the local BK than someone who comes in and speaks spanish. It has happened to me.

What, did you think you'd rise to the top of the food chain by being a carpenter? 658789 No, did'nt expect to have our wages undercut by insourced illegal labor.... I knew of cali, tex, arz, dealing with the issue for years.... The illegals in the last few years are now laying claim to the northeast, sure has been a major influx as of late....Wonder why, that is??? rockpile
It is one thing to have students study what is happening and to understand the issue, but giving school credit for attending the rallies? 657847 I remember in 1969, a group of us getting smacked around by teachers and tossed back INTO school for wearing black arm bands and staging a walkout to protest the way the government was mismanaging the war. Now you get classroom credit?
