You know, they might win their home opener this year.

At Auburn?...oh boy, that won't be pretty

I like it. If you want to start recruiting top players, start off by losing to top teams. :w00t:

It's good timing for UB to take the big paydays which will help upgrade the program/facilities. Turner Gill definitely has one "honeymoon" season and this is it. The team is still mostly comprised of Hofher's players and we can't expect them to win too much in 2006. It should be fun though and i can see UB winning maybe 3 games (which will be a decent upgrade)

I have a friend at west virginia. Apparenty they are pissed at UB, because they had a deal to play at WVU this season.....then backed out when Auburn agreed to play them. So now WVU has a hole in their schedule.

This is almost unethical by UB! Is this anything less than pimping out your football players to make some $$.

I understand why WVU would be pissed but i can't feel sorry for them. UB is a doormat in the 1A landscape. Their only chance to make some of that BCS money is to get big paydays for going to places like Auburn and Wisconsin. If anything, WVU should be pissed at Auburn for stealing their opponent! Obviously anything goes in college athletics and I don't blame the new regime at UB for tearing up those old contracts and going for the bucks. Now that a 12th game has been added to 1A schedules, UB will surprisingly be in high demand every year by the big name teams needing a cupcake on their home slate.

I realize Auburn, BC and Wisconson will hammer UB but they get paid a boatload of cash from each of those teams, which will help upgrade the program long term.

UB is taking home over 1 Mil for visiting the 3 teams mentioned above. That will go towards recruiting and further upgrades to the facilities. They already have done a ton since the new AD arrived.

Bringing in Turner Gill can only help attract talent.
