Astrobot Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Right now, we pick #8, 42, 70, 73, 105, 178, 216, 248. 5 picks in the Top 100ish. I propose a trade with the Rams, exchanging our #8 for their #11 and their #77. And we trade Moulds to Houston for their #66 pick in Round 3 (they own the 1st & 2nd pick in that Round). 7 picks in the Top 100ish. Current players roughly at those positions: Source 11. DT Brodrick Bunkley 42. OT Jonathan Scott 66. OG Davin Joseph 70. S Roman Harper 73. WR Hank Baskett 77. OG Taitusi Latui Day 2: 105. DE Chris Gocong or QB Charlie Whitehurst 178. QB Bruce Gradkowski or FB Matt Bernstein 216. RB Mike Bell or LB Terna Nande 248. WR Ben Obomanu or KR Ashlan Davis
Frez Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Dude, you're crazy over this. Sit back and let the draft come to you.
Astrobot Posted April 2, 2006 Author Posted April 2, 2006 This is the best time of the year for us draft droids. We comb the draft sites, invent crazy trades, figure the implications of a recent FA signing...I love this stuff! Great substitute for my former addictions, titanium and WD-40. Astro
Frez Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 You are a draft droid for sure! What's it like at your place on draft day?

The Jokeman Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Right now, we pick #8, 42, 70, 73, 105, 178, 216, 248.5 picks in the Top 100ish. QB Bruce Gradkowski or FB Matt Bernstein 216. RB Mike Bell or LB Terna Nande 248. WR Ben Obomanu or KR Ashlan Davis 650099 I like the idea of the trade down with the Rams yet I think it be a hard time getting Houston's 3rd for Moulds but one could be dream. Also, I'm not as sold on Baskett as some on the board are but I do like your first four selections but Harper looks to be taken a bit too early. Instead keep the first three, use pick 70 on a WR like Jason Avant, pick 73 on a DE like Mark Anderon and than use pick 77 on Roman Harper and we're talking great day 1.

Astro 650104 Is there a reason the Rams want to get ahead of the teams who pick 9th and 10th, and are willing to part with a 3rd rounder to do it? Who would they have pegged at 8 that won't be there at 11?
Astrobot Posted April 2, 2006 Author Posted April 2, 2006 Rams needs: 1) Cornerback They have some solid players but lack a true #1 cover guy. 2) Tight End A true receiving threat is needed to compliment Manumaleuna. 3) Defensive Line Their depth here took a major hit in free agency this year. They would be shooting for Tye Hill at CB, who the Lions like. They would have a shot at Vernon Davis, who the Cards like. And of course Haloti Ngata, who we and the Browns like.

WR Ben Obomanu or KR Ashlan Davis 650099 If you are drafting QB Gradkowski (and I assume keeping rather cutting him otherwise why draft him) this means you must cut one of our vet QBs (thus adding the cap hit of his accelerated bonus to the cost of keeping Gradko). As long as the premise of this post lauches off into the fantasy world of not only the draft but the uber fantasy world of draft trades, then if you pick a QB you want to cut, you can throw him into your trade resources and maybe propose getting even more picks in exchanges for this QB. I love the fantasy world.
Astrobot Posted April 2, 2006 Author Posted April 2, 2006 I myself would take the best FB in the draft at #178. Bernstein would be money inside the 5 with Willis (not a "3rd Down Back") in the backfield. What's wrong with the fantasy world? Reality doing it for ya?

Of course that is according to the experts. The rest of the draft looks pretty good except, I personally, wouldn't want them to draft another QB yet.
