TDRupp Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 I read somewhere that the compensation picks for last year's free agency would be annoucned today. Any one hear anything? 643055[/snapback] I don't know if they release this today or not but this is my take posted on the "Moulds = 4th rounder" thread. Thoughts UFA Siged: Kelly Holcomb (8 starts 4 yrs. $6.6 M, SB $2 M) and Bennie Anderson (14 starts 3 yrs. $5.1 M, SB $1.5 M) UFA Lost: Jonas Jennings (3 starts 7 yrs. $36M, $12M SB) and Pat Williams (16 starts 3 yrs $13M, $6M SB, Incentives $2M -Pro Bowl) Net loss is 0, and if they weigh starts in first year of new contract more than the size and/or performance of the players, then we will be lucky to get a 6th or 7th rounder. If they weigh contract size and perfomance (not sure they can do this unless they make a pro bowl b/c otherwise if would be very subjective in determining how good a player performed) the same or more then only #of starts then I'd say we have a shot at a 5th rounder. I'd be shocked if they gave us a 4th or higher although it would have been possible with 16 starts and a pro bowl by Jennnings.
Mark Vader Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 The NFL Annual Meeting started yesterday and lasts through Thursday. This is when they get the compensatory picks decided, and more likely the regular season schedule dates will get ironed out too. Although the regular season schedule wo'nt be announced for a couple more weeks, we should get the compensatory picks today. If not we will get them this week.
