Charlie68 Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/sfl-ogu...la-sports-front Ogunleye said he is prepared to skip the first 10 games. Playing the final six would qualify him for unrestricted free-agent status in 2005 the Dolphins refused to grant his agents permission this week to seek a trade looks like a stalemate. I hope he doesnt give in

jarthur31 Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 I don't think he'll miss that much time. It won't bode well for other teams who might want to sign him.
Pete Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 The good news will not stop flowing from Miami. I want some decent Dolphins to suit up this year. No way do they make the playoffs and we dont want Miami to get too high a draft pick. The phins have all the makings of a 4-12 season.

dib Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 1400 am (the Fan) down here states that the Felons are trying to work a deal with Cleveland for a RB and a WR in exchange for Ogunleyee or however the hell you spell it.

Oggy is gone and Dieami has a vanilla offense. They're not so crappy that they get the #1 pick in the 2005 draft.
duey Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 I fully support Ogunleye's decision. In fact, to make an even stronger statement, I think he should sit out the entire season.

It won't bode well for other teams who might want to sign him. 471[/snapback] He'll showcase himself for the final 6 games. If he's as good as he thinks he is, he (will believe he) should notch a sack a game and hit the jackpot on the open market.
Guest Guest Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 If he sits out this year, he most likely still will not hit the open market next year. It's called the franchise tag. The only thing he is going to do is miss out on this years pay checks. He will be with the Dolphins next year unless they decide to trade him. The only leverage he has is that Ricky left and they may want a RB, but they aren't going to give him away for nothing. Be careful to get to excited about this, it may hit close to home in a few years. Rosenhaus is his agent, can see McGahee in the same boat if he performs. Rosenhaus is a snake, the other agents even hate him.

We know this. But I think he'd pretty much prove his point -- and his market value, if not his worth -- if that defense looks weak without him. Let's hope it does.

stuckincincy Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Skipping for 10 games...you'de have to think his ankles would get tired.

Couldn't believe it when I heard that WM might want to be traded if he's not starting. Bills fans, feel fortunate that Rosenhaus isn't the agent for a bunch of bills. Being a Dolphin fan I can tell you this is the way he operates, he is the agent for a bunch of the Dolphins.

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Seems to be an unfair situation in the NFL that a guy can come in after ten games, play the past 6 and qualify for free agency.
