grape ape Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 And who are the pats going to get as a K thats going to be BETTER than vinatieri? NO ONE! Apparently you follow the tom donahoe line of thinking that good kickers are a dime a dozen. 641446 we'll soon find out, they'll probably get someone that'll easily be better at kicking off, the colts are going to need a kick off specialist or their brilliant new kicker will cost their special teams in terms of field position i will say that the dome probably will extend vinateris worth as far as field goals are concerned
stinky finger Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 And the Pats have ONLY gotten worse, significantly worse, since the end of the 2004 season. 641437 Dead nut on this one. Instead of great, they are merely very, very good.
apuszczalowski Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 i'd say it is extrememly warranted but have already been called a phin fan so i wont 641444 Actually, I believe you were called a 'phins fan cause you are constantly telling us how great DC will be and expressing your man love for him.
Lurker Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Adam Schein = %$&@*! Nall got backup money, and that's all. Schein ought to look at the contracts being signed by FAs this year under the new CBA. His frame of reference seems to be a couple of years out of date.
Olaf Fub Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 For Brian Griese going to Chicago, he writes a little competition never hurt anyone. Why can't he same the same thing about Nall coming here? The Bills didn't pay a lot of money for the guy and he's worth gambling on.
Buffalo_Stampede Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 This is the same guy that picked the Bills to make the playoffs last year and for Mike Mularkey to be coach of the year. Also, How is giving a staring TE for 2 years in Gibbs offense 10 million over 5 years a stupid move, but paying a WR that averages about 40 catches a year 31 million and 10-11 million upfront is a great move? I mean, maybe Royal should have gotten 5 years 7-8 million, but there is no way El is worth that much money. Plus, Nall only got 1.3 million for a 4 year Vet? How is that alot? The Vikings were offereing over a million.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 MUUAAAAA! I love this little ditty: Seriously. You cannot make this stuff up. This is officially the goofiest move of the off-season. By the way, Jon Kitna told me on Tuesday that the Bills never called his agent. Maybe Mr. Wilson is still trying to figure out the CBA extension, and that's why they inked Nall. Who knows? Can anyone in Buffalo get a clue? There's a reason why Eric Moulds wants out and why his agent was granted permission to seek a trade. If I am a die hard Bills' fan, I am afraid. What a wretched month of March for the Bills. That is, unless you are a big Robert Royal fan.
CircleTheWagons Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 It's slightly off topic, but Adam V. has been the 2nd most valuable player on the Patriots over the last 5 years. Missing one kick against the broncos does not make him "past his prime" by any stretch. It's not like he can no longer make the distance on a 50 yard FG or something. The team will certainly feel the effects of his departure. 641429 I agree with you, but when the article states Vinatieri inks a deal with the rival Colts, giving Indy just what they have lacked, the ability to perform in the big spot. I think it's a little over the top and makes me want to dismiss the article. Vanderjagt missed a big kick but suggesting that he has been the problem in Indy the last few years is riciculous.
BobbyC81 Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Sorry if posted already, but didnt see it. See item #6 in the article. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5438096 641371 Aaaahh! What do they know??!! They probably bashed Green Bay years ago when they gave up a 2nd round pick for Favre!!
PromoTheRobot Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Those who can...do Those who can't...teach Those who know nothing...write about it. PTR
Albany,n.y. Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 I want to know the guys reaction when Carolina signed Jake Delhomme to a very similar deal after he was buried on the bench by Jim Haslett in NO. If he was against it, he was wrong; if he was for it he's a hypocrite. Either way he's wrong.
Buftex Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 I want to know the guys reaction when Carolina signed Jake Delhomme to a very similar deal after he was buried on the bench by Jim Haslett in NO. If he was against it, he was wrong; if he was for it he's a hypocrite. Either way he's wrong. 641645 Hmmmm, I may be wrong, but Delhomme played a little more pro ball than Nall... I am not sure what to think about the Nall signing. I wouldn't say he is getting starter money, but for the amount of experience he has, it is not just a pocket change minimum contract either... I was flipping through a bunch of old football annuals, from the last five years or so, seeing what the "experts" at Athlon, Street & Smith, Pro Football Weekly, etc, about Craig Nall...all say consistantly, "good arm", say he does not "force passes"...Lindy's, in this past year, mentions that Nall has the "potential to become a solid back-up QB in the NFL." Not too much to get excited about, but what do any of them know...
Lurker Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Hmmmm, I may be wrong, but Delhomme played a little more pro ball than Nall...641656 Delhomme had two NFL starts before going to the Panthers. He did win a World Bowl Championship with the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe in 1999, however.

I wonder if Nalls NFL Europe leauge leading performance, trumps Delhommes' championship...I hope so...
Albany,n.y. Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Delhomme looked pretty good in his start against Dallas on national tv & was never heard from again in a Saints uniform.
Pass the Pipe Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 These people have no idea what they are talking about. It seems like they're trying to say that were a contender this year. I don't think so. This year is a rebuilding year, and the fans around here know that. I don't believe a thing Foxsports says. Foxsports is only good if your looking a fantasy football predictions. 641402 You need to get a clue. How can you say your rebuilding with guys like Nall and Royal? Rebuilding what, another 5 - 11 season if your lucky? This guy is only stating the obvious, Levy keeps rolling snake eyes, which is no surprise to me.
Pass the Pipe Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Delhomme looked pretty good in his start against Dallas on national tv & was never heard from again in a Saints uniform. 641664 And your chance of winning the lottery is about the same as well. Stop referring to Warner and Delhomme, stuff like that doesn't happen every offseason.
Stevie Ray Posted March 24, 2006 Author Posted March 24, 2006 MUUAAAAA! I love this little ditty: 641577 Have to admit, I thought of you and LV-Bills when i saw that line!
MadBuffaloDisease Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Can I ask, who the F is Adam Schein and why should anyone CARE what he says? Hell why should anyone care what ANY "sports expert" says, since they are rarely ever right, rarely ever admit they WERE wrong, and never have any accountability?
Fan in Chicago Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Can I ask, who the F is Adam Schein and why should anyone CARE what he says? Hell why should anyone care what ANY "sports expert" says, since they are rarely ever right, rarely ever admit they WERE wrong, and never have any accountability? 641688 The reason we should care is that no one knows if Marv & the front office is going to be right either. Bottom line, everybody is expressing an opinion only - that includes the national media, local media and us fans. And we need to be aware of differing points of view.
