He has a point though. People blow things off that aren't important to them and often tacitly encourage it in their children. We live in a culture of selfishness and sometimes maliciousness. I have more than once seen it where trying to reason with someone just makes them act worse. Now this guy obviously went over the top, don't know why, but since the parents or the teen couldn't be relied on to just ACT RIGHT and have some respect for someone else's property - were it me, I'd have found a more subtle way to get my message across. You don't have any respect for something that's mine? I'll find something that you care about - and you'll never prove I did it, either. Sometimes being nice and rational gets one sh-- on.

I have to agree with the conservatives on this one.

Did I ever tell anyone how I hate snowmobiles using my lawn as a "hopping point" becuase the sidewalks and streets are clear of snow...:D

Hunks of angle iron in the snow go far in getting the message across without killing anyone!... Okay... Maybe ALMOST not killing anyone.

I got that. I thought it was a pasta course every day. I've seen Goodfellas.

No different than growing up Polish with that potato and cabbage fixation.

Old country cooking = cheap food. Not that it isn't delicious. But most of our European ancestors didn't come here because stuff was going well in Europe, they came here because they were poor.

And not too off the norm:

Some moved as far west as possible until the money ran out... There you stayed.

Others would settle in places that "looked" like home.

Notice MN kinda has the geo of Scandanavia (okay a stretch)... But, the Amana's moved from Ebenezer (West Seneca) to Iowa... The rolling topo reminded them of thier homeland in Germany... Actually, a lot of Germans took roots in that part of Iowa and the midwest... And besides, the "bright lights" of Buffalo were distracting to their youth...:lol::lol:

I have a great scratch made corned beef recipe. It's Jewish, I think.

My mother inlaw is Italian and she makes a mean manicotti... She got the recipe from a Polish lady that she worked with.

Okay, how about:  "Dear Lord, thank you that we're alive since we're decended from idiots that suffered from a potato famine.  I mean, a potato famine?  WTF!?!?  Ireland is an island for cryin' out loud.  By definition an island is surrounded by fish.  Thank you, you absentee landlord."

Better?

And heck... While you are at it... There is always Swift's Modest Proposal well before the famine.

Those crazy Irish... They just don't heed people's advice!
