While his partner, Goldberg, spent the entire morning calling every Jew in NY and telling them to call in sick to work that day.

Right, Alex Jones?  ;)

My personal favorite 9/11 conspiracy theory is the one about building 7 (which collapsed hours later in the afternoon).  The nutjobs claim the building was destroyed with controlled blasts, which proves the entire operation was an inside job because it takes time to set all those charges up.

Of course, they can never explain why anyone would bother blowing up a third, smaller, empty building hours after the two towers were destroyed, but whatever....

I've heard that one. I'm surprised you haven't heard the motive, it's a good one. The reason WTC7 was demolished was: there were documents incriminating Enron in the basement.

I'm not even making that up (well, it is made-up, but not by me. And people actually believe that.)

So the government masterminds behind the attacks spent years planning for 9/11 but didn't realize they left all the incriminating documents in one of the buildings next door until sometime on the mid-afternoon of 9/11?

Actually, that plan is still less convoluted than the terrorist plans on 24 these days.

Real life doesn't make for good TV. In general, real terrorists:

1. Pick thing.

2. Blow thing up.

That wouldn't cover a commercial break, let alone a full season.

Actually, they only spent months...and don't forget, they wired WTC7 for demolition beforehand...so they could destroy the building six hours after they destroyed the towers.

Of course, if they could secretly wire WTC7 for demolition in the months preceding, you'd think they could...oh, I don't know...maybe steal the incriminating documents. Or set fire to them. Or something. It would certainly be a hell of a lot easier. But it would also be suspicious...and the simple fact that the operation was designed so that we would suspect Arabs and not the government proves it's a government conspiracy. :);)

What, you think that terrorists kidnapping the Secretary of Defense to broadcast his execution on the internet, to use the internet traffic to mask their attempt to remotely melt down every nuclear reactor in the country while they steal a stealth fighter to shoot down Air Force One to get the nuclear codes to launch their stolen American nuclear warhead at Los Angeles - in 24 hours - is unrealistic?

But anyway, the whole real history of this episode has been pretty well documented at this point. As I recall, one of the cable nets, might have been NGC or History, actually had a pretty good piece on it, going all the way back to the Casablanca conference.

The remarkable part is that as ridiculous as last season's plot was, at least you could summarize it in one long sentence.

We're only halfway through this season and you need at least five run-on sentences (most featuring circular logic) to explain what is going on.

Terrorists...uhhh...well, they're doing something.

This season has a plot? Why spoil it with a plot? I'm still trying to figure out precisely why most of the sh-- this season is happening. Seems to me, for example, that the terrorists released nerve gas (which acts far more like a corrosive blood agent, actually) in CTU just to kill Edgar and Samwise Gamgee.

Could be. I know I got my phone call, so I "conveniently" extended my trip to the Bills' home opener by a day.

Isn't Charlie due for a refresher at the Betty Ford clinic?

I need to get out there for a month so I can meet some credible public figures.

And you thought I didn't have a good reason to drink.

I didn't want to start a new topic, first day of spring and gas is now 2.55 a gallon. Miss those days when gas went up 10 to 20 cents a summer season. You know pay 1.10 a gallon in winter, summertime pay 1.18. Hopeing it does'nt hit 3.00 a gallon this summer like last summer. Remember the commercial that bush ran stating kerry would tax gas .50 a gallon and we be pushing are cars ,glad that did'nt happen, what was it then 2.00 a gallon, quess the jawbone don't work.
