Jbfalcon80
Wow, this season is on the verge of sucking and ruining the reputation of the entire series like Rocky 5 did. C'mon, Tony dead?

loadofmularkey
Incredible episode. The same people who will say it was "boring and dumb" are the same people who complain because there hasn't been as much violence the last few seasons. The acting on this show has reached new heights...Edie Falco has always been great and tonight was no exception. AJ's words to his dad (I won't get into details for those who haven't seen it) were shocking...it'll definitely be interesting to see how this all plays out. stevestojan
are you kidding? I thought it was a fantastic episode. I won't spoil anything, but the road they are going down leaves the remainder of the season open for anything.

I can't believe someone started a thread bashing this episode. Apparently a lot of people watch the show to see people get "whacked". I thought it was on of the best eipsodes ever. They waited 2 years to put this tripe on the tube. They got nothin' left and are trying to milk one more season out of a show that pretty much sucked the last season it aired as well. So TS is dreaming about what his life would be like outside the "Family". Doesn't work for me... No, I don't watch to see people get whacked but this story started out as a darkly humorous look at life inside the head of a neurotic mobster and is turning into Falcon Crest. Maybe it's because I watched "Good Fellas" this afternoon to remind me what a mob story is supposed to be like. But I was disappointed at the last season and tonight's show looks like last week's episode, which I thought was good, was an anomaly. My $.02... ajzepp
I thought it was a pretty strong episode, myself. Granted, there was not a LOT going on, but I think what they tried to do was really allow us to feel like we're right in the middle of what's going on with Tony. We're allowed to see things from the perspective of those involed, and on a pretty intimate level. I'll aslo echo the scene with AJ and Tony.....that was awesome. It's not a typical Sopranos season so far, that's for sure. But give it a chance, guys.....it's only the second episode!
meazza
i thought it was a decent episode. not like most sopranos shows but i have a feeling the season will end up being very strong especially towards the end.
kasper13
Terrible. It was weak and contrived. There should be no crap episodes after waiting 2+ years. For the first three seasons there was not one bad episode. The last few there have been a few clunkers. After the long dream sequence episode in the last season, did we really need another one? I don't want to think and try and figure out what the writer is trying to convey in his imagery. It's not art. I just want to watch the show, enjoy it for what it is and see some people get whacked. Quite a letdown after a great opener.

Rico
Thumbs up from me. The coma dreams were a little disconcerting, but Gandolfini needs & deserves his screen time... and the non-coma scenes were great, really anticipating the upcoming developments that they are laying the groundwork for. CosmicBills
It's not art. 635714[/snapback] Sure it is. Good stories, at any level or in any form are art. Even bad stories are art. But like all art, it's in the eye of the beholder. So most of the time (not all of the time) there is no way to know if it is "good art" or "bad art" since so much of it comes from inside you anyway. Not to defend this episode (I thought it was good, not great, but worthwhile) -- but who says that Tony stuff was a dream? I interpreted it more that he was in purgatory (or something similar). He wasn't imagining what his life would have been like had he not been in the family as much as he was stuck in this netherworld. He was induced into a comma, thus he couldn't leave. That is why he didn't have his wallet, couldn't get a room, and why he couldn't call home at the end. He was stuck between worlds. A lot of religious imagry throughout the comma sequences etc. It had a lot of indepth imagry as far as that goes -- a lot of it very subtle. The real life stuff going on was good as always. A fight for power within the family, AJ making a turn (similar path as Tony, getting kicked out of college after only a semester -- dying father etc). I dunno, I found it entertaining but a bit of a let down from last week's opener.
Live&DieBillsFootball
I thought it was a great episode. Get used to the coma because I think that Tony is going to be out of commission for a while. It looks like there is going to be a power struggle between Sylvio and the Capos. I think that Vito is going to be this seasons main antagonist. Finn is coming back to town next week. Creepy that Vito wanted to give AJ a ride home. Vito also has been working with Phil.
