What Marv does (or dosen't) do as a GM should count towards his legacy. The early signs are that Marv is way over head in this.

He has yet to sign one player that makes this team better then they were last season. Then again, if you were a Free Agent why would you come pay for the Levy led Bills? The only players signed are those just happy to have a job.

This team was said to have Cap room. Then the Cap was increased. It appears that Marv is either unwilling (more likely unable) to do anything with it.

The saddest thing? Is that in a year and half or two years when Levy gets fired or forced to step down? We will then have a 93 year old clueless owner out there trying to hire another GM.

I hope Golisano plans on buying the Bills. Looking at what he has done with the Sabres? I think he can save this once proud franchise and save it from this downward spiral.

Way to early to say that Marv is over his head!

The saddest thing? You're mocking our hall of fame (ex)coach before even giving him a chance. You're hiding behind agism and pretending you can tell the future, and fuly expect others here to side with you.

Sad.

Free Agency was his chance. And apparently he can't get up from his mid-afternoon nap to participate. Maybe after 'Matlock' is over.

You know, when my kids get cranky, I put them down for a nap. Did you miss yours today?

Past tense? Free Agency just started. Are you coming back in time to tell me how it went?

We've been signing a player at least every other day in free agency. At this rate, we'll have 25 new players signed before the draft.

Who would you have signed, and for how much? And for extra credit, why? (Or do you not want to talk about football?)

We probably aren't a playoff team next year- people who think long term are smart, and beat the people who dont think long term...we'll be very competetive. Marv is doing a good job, and ONLY adding to his legacy

You need to be careful about you wish for ......... IMHO ..... Golisano is a business man, he will do what is necessary to make a profit (that's not a knock on him ... that's what businessmen are supposed to do). Western New York just can not support a team to the level of the "high rollers" in the league. Look at ticket prices around the NFL ....... look at parking fees ....... look at the consessions local governments are willing (and able) to offer the owners to stay in the city.

Ralph is "old school". While he owned the club, the Bills have never moved to greener pastures simply because the Buffalo Bills were from Buffalo. He considered the team as something permanent, a monument, as it were, that he has built, NOT a nomadic money making machine. Ralph has embraced Buffalo even though it was his third choice for a location to build a team (his first being Detroit, second Miami).

For everyone clamoring for a "new breed" of owner ......... hopefully we don't get one that expects any significant return on their 600 - 800 Million dollar investment.

How do you know? What qualifies you to make these statements? What is your legacy.

Triplett is an upgrade over Edwards, Bannan, and most likely Adams too. Then he made run at Pickett. Picket was too costly for a team with so many needs.

Royal is an upgrade over Campbell, you will see. Gibbs wanted to keep him. Is he old and stupid too?

Davis could be one heck of a find if he stays healthy.

Marv just made a very creative move on an offer for Wells. This kid is a player and not even in his prime. If we don't get him we have also been talking to Neal.

He took a shot at Fabini. It didn't work, big deal

He still has cap room for a few more players. He is making lots of moves for roster depth ... all teams do that.

We still have the draft and the summer cuts. I'm betting by the end of August we have a younger and more talented roster than last years.

What miracles do you want? Quit discriminating against age. Open your mind and give the man a chance.

Marv is learning from the Patriots, dont go after the players that other teams are driving up the price but go after the bargain signings after the first wave is over.

What has Marv done wrong that makes him look bad?

Released Mark Campbell upgraded with Royal

Released Sam adams-tried to get pickett

ufa-Justan Bannan- upgraded with triplett

ufa-reed equaled out resigned

Added depth/speed/KR specialist andre davis-not a bad signing

made an offer to Wells to be an uppgrade over Bennie Anderson at LG.

Still needs a safety,DT and LT which 2 of the 3 could be addressed in the draft.

He is spending smart money not over paying for players that we call stars, but getting serviceable players that are an upgrade over what we have now and creating depth of spot starting capability. A blue print of the succes in NE,

Furthermore noone can hurt their legacy when the team hasnt even made the first snap of regular season yet. An free agency has just wrapped up its first week and the draft hasnt happened yet. Really have some patience.

I couldn't agree more. Fuggin whitey Donahoe singed every sexy free agent and made all the slick trades and where did that get the Bills. Overpaying for aged vets who have seen better years sounds nice but it doesn't translate into W's. The way to build a team is through the draft and choosing hungry vets to sign that will make your team better. That's what Marv is doing. Now get us a QB Marv.

From all the previous 'pollyanna' posts your post is the most interesting. Lets break it down.

Tripplett? Didn't he get benched? He's half the size and half the player Adams is. Adams was space eater. He took up blockers. Tripplett is an undersized pass rushing wanna be.

Royal? 18 catches 131 yards. And that's when he's healthy.

Wells? Started only nine games for a team that could only average 3.2 yards a carry? Don't any of you look this stuff up?

The miracle I want is for the owner of this team not to hire his friends and hire qualified employees.

This team needs three new starters on the defensive line and need to release evey offensive lineman on the roster. This team wasn't close. They are not better then the 5-11 record they had. They were probably worse. Adding other teams garbage isn't going to make this team better.

Is marv awake is not entirely off base guys. I think he is a little too negative for a bills fan since if we dont have blind optimism we would kill ourselves half way throught he season. The adds being made to the team do not in any way look like starters. These are guys that im fine with backing up but starting them should not be the plan. At least moves are being made and we need to keep making moves becuase we do have cap room and we do need starters and we will not find them in the draft either. At least wells i beileve is a starting linemen. He is no all star but its a start on a team that has a lot of holes.

I hear what you're saying. But you or I could just "make moves". Which seems to be what Levy is doing. I havn't seen Levy sign a player yet that could start for last years 5-11 team. How does this make the team better?

If this is the Bills Free Agency plan? I am afraid to see what the Draft Day plan is.
