roscoeparrishfan Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Saints | Brees' signing would not discourage Leinart from coming Wed, 15 Mar 2006 12:42:44 -0800 Jimmy Smith, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports Southern California QB Matt Leinart's agent, Leigh Steinberg, said the New Orleans Saints' signing of QB Drew Brees will not deter his client from coming to New Orleans if the team selects him with the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft. "From Matt's perspective, we have always assumed there would be a veteran starter with any franchise that drafted him," Steinberg said, "and (assumed) he would not be the immediate starter, wherever he would go, and spending some time learning has proven to be advantageous for a number of the best quarterbacks in football." Just think brees could play well and get cut again in a couple years.
