I know RFAs don't come cheap, but this guy sounds like he'd be worth a look. Guess it all depends on the tender -- if it's a first rounder, that's a little tough to swallow.

Insider Analysis

Grade 77

Expert's Take Manuwai is a short, compact offensive lineman. He has good bulk and very good strength. He has short arms, but he comes off the ball and delivers a good initial punch. He plays with a bit of a mean streak and is very effective in the trapping game. He delivers an explosive blow when he pulls to lead a play. He has very good foot quickness for his body type and takes a good, quick first step to get himself into good position. He shows he can be effective in getting to the second level and blocking a moving target. He plays with excellent leverage and shows the ability to get movement on the line of scrimmage in one-on-one situations. He anchors very well versus the powerful bull rush and does a great job of picking up stunts and twists in the middle. He can mirror and slide with a defender, and it is difficult to get him out of his cylinder. His physical limitations center around his short arms and his lack of ideal height. He has good movement, but he works from a narrow base at times and can look awkward in trying to maintain blocks on a moving target. He does a poor job of locking on with his hands and does not work to finish his blocks. He has trouble changing direction in space. He is young, and he appears to have good durability and should continue to improve his overall technique. He has a chance to develop into one of the top offensive guards in the league.

IIRC, a team can offer a RFA 3 (maybe it's 4) levels of salary, and can match another team's higher offer, but the team that signs away the RFA has to give the former club a draft pick same as he was drafted with - so a 3rd rounder would have to be given away to the Jags.

We'd have to give up a 3rd round pick to nab him. The question is whether he'd be worth that kind of pick and the $$$$ it would take to pry him away from the Jags.

The news from Jax yesterday was that Big Mike might be tried at OG. Maybe they would be willing to part with him if that's their plan.
