Kelly the Dog Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Does he really think that Tom Donohoe and Ralph Wilson are going to go way out on a limb to draft an injured Willis McGahee in the first round, then rehabilitate him for an entire year, not play him one down, PAY him a #1 signing bonus and salary, and then just when he is about to be good TRADE HIM FOR A future #1 pick? HELL-OOOOOOO???!!!! MC-FLYYYYYYYYYYY???!!
macaroni Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 And the smart thing would be????????? Keep him and trade Henry??????????? I don't think so. It really is a conumdrum ............ our options are; A. Feuding RBs all year (and maybe next) causing a cancer on the team B. Trading Willis, and losing on the Gamble we made to get him. C. Trading Henry, the proven performer and handing the job to Willis. I truely don't know which way we'll go ........ all I know is that MM is sure getting a baptism by fire on his first coaching job with the problems we've had so far ..... and the season hasn't even started yet.
stuckincincy Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Here's a quote from the gentleman, after WMG signed last year: "From the outset of negotiations, the Bills never tried to penalize Willis for his injury, and that was a key," agent Drew Rosenhaus said. "They showed us a lot of respect and it's clear they believe Willis is a big part of their future. There weren't any discussions about, 'What if he doesn't (recover)?' They know he's going to be a player." Hmmm...

Travis may not be an academic All-American but he works his ass off. Always. And so does Willis. That is not going to change. Travis wants three things out of his career, the same three things that Willis wants and that all players want: to play a lot, to win a lot, to get paid a lot. These priorities are just placed in different order by different players. Travis has only two options, stay and get paid by the Bills or get traded/leave on free agency for another team to pay him big. The ONLY way he gets that is by producing on the field. He's not going to pout and not put out the effort on the field and be benched for laziness. Like Thurman, he has a chip on his shoulder and uses anger to motivate him. And barring injury, he's going to be on the field. Willis has a better situation because he makes more now and he knows Travis will likely be gone after a year and at most two. But Willis has zero chits, all he has is a loudmouth agent to lobby foir more playing time. We have him for four years. His money is based on incentives. Let him or his agent B word in the press all they want, he has to produce on the field, too, and he's going to get his chance. Like others have posted, it's not like a QB controversy where it's A or B, it's A and B. There is little to no chance that a Flutie-like lobbying between players is going to divide the lockerroom. These guys are just going to have to produce, their teammates don't have to choose sides. We the fans and the writers are going to argue all week every week about who is better and who should get more carries or more playing time but they are both going to have to give their all on the field and it is going to help the team more than tear it apart.

Kelly the Dog Posted August 21, 2004 Author Posted August 21, 2004 Are you by chance related to Triumph the Insult Comic Dog? 2387[/snapback] That's a great question. A great question for me to poop on.
millbank Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Lets all remember Rosenhaus is the same agent that during draft told Willis to talk on the telephone, and boasted on Rome how he had done so fooling the Bills, Tom Donahoe was not fooled then and he is not being fooled now , the players will play when the are told to as long as they are under contract or Bills can find a way by trading either one of them to make team better, Drew Rosenhaus could fly around the Ralph doing to funky chicken backwords and it would not change this.......
Nanker Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 What if Mularkey starts BOTH of them? Would they whine then? Mularkey's said he's got a name for that set. Maybe it's called "DoubleDiapers"
