The Jokeman Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Per kffl`s Hot off the wire. The Bills are interested in Bengal`s Matt Schobel. 618411 If you compare Matt Schobel's stats vs Mark Campbell's stats over the last three seasons they're pretty much identical. The only real difference is Matt's three year's younger.

VABills Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 If you compare vs Mark Campbell their pretty much identical. The question is would the Bills save money in signing Schobel or was age a factor in cutting Campbell with a three year age difference between the two. 618414 Injury could be an issue as well. Campbell has not played in all 16 games in his three years here, and has been out quite a bit the last 2. Plus he was pretty much non-existant in the offense last year. Finally Schoebal should come pretty cheap as he has never been the starter in Cincy. Kelly is the starter so with Everett back and likely starter, we needed a backup. Also, Schoebal while a good receiver is a terrible blocker. Again probably not someone we want starting, but more of a redzone threat.

Matt in KC Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I really hope we sign him. I would much more excited to start the year with Everette and Schoebel than I have been the last few years with Campbell and Neufeld|Euhus. And, we're strapped for cash and don't have draft picks to waste. This seems like it would be a solid value updagrade.

He's a good runner, can stretch the field, and has good hands.
Brandon Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 What's the point? The Bills already have a very similar prospect, Tim Euhus.
