Do you think Dolphins get offended when Miami uses their name? How come nobody cares about those poor Dolphins being linked to such a horrible team?

Gee, with an attitiude like this no wonder Native Americans probably think "what's the use in complaining" because nobody really cares? Before one criticizes a minority group, one should "walk a mile in their moccassins". Does anyone even care about the abuse the Natives have had to endure from about the time the Mayflower landed? Boarding schools anyone? Broken treaties? Needless slaughter of primary food sources? Demeaning portrayal in the media (remember the bad westerns of the forties and fifties?) Forced entrapment on 'wonderful' reservations that 'promoted' assimilation into the white culture, or die? After considering the previous, regardless of what your position is on this topic, can't you see why keeping a sports team's derogatory nickname may be offensive, and inappropriate? This isn't about being heckled in Buffalo for wearing your Ricky Williams jersey, then being really upset and having 'thin skin'.

Perhaps charging that a person is 'politically correct' is REALLY being politically correct....

"White persons suffer a real identity crisis, and they romanticize with us mythically. And a white person always will say, 'I'm part Indian and I don't object to the name, Redskins,' " he said.

Anyone else catch the irony here?

What an !@#$.
