Hardy Pyle Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 The dollar rose to 88.39 cents (U.S.), its highest level since November, 1991. Among the 62 global currencies tracked by Bloomberg News, the loonie is the world's best-performing currency this week against the U.S. dollar, with a 1.8-per-cent gain. It's going to kill alot of our exporters though! But at least a vacation to the states won't be as expensive!
Wacka Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I don't know how old you are, but most of my childhood, the Loonie (although it wasn't around) was worth about $1.04 US.

Fan in San Diego Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 My Dad is Canadian. When he first start working for GM in the 60's the Canadian dollar was worth more than the US dollar. He almost didn't take a job in the US because he was cashing his US check and it was reduced by 6 or 7 percent. Glad he took the job though in hind sight !
Hardy Pyle Posted March 2, 2006 Author Posted March 2, 2006 wow...really, I never knew that. Thanks for the info. I always presumed the cdn $ was subpar to the us $.
