Guest Guest Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 being a met fan means that you decided to root for the team that you like in your heart, and you didnt join the throngs of bandwagoners who like the yankees because they really like NYC and think that its the only team around. bunch of bandwagon !@#$s....its funny you never heard about any of these yankee fans until they started winning championships. GO FIGURE?

Tux of Borg Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Martinez, PedroBoston's Pedro Martinez beat the Yankees for the first time in over a year on May 30, 2001. The following day Pedro scoffed at The Curse, telling reporters "Wake up the dumb Bambino and have me face him -- maybe I'll drill him in the %#$." At the time Pedro was 7-1 with a 1.44 ERA. After his challenge, Martinez was winless in seven straight starts for the first time since the first seven of his major league career. After threatening the Bambino, he spent two months on the DL and went 0-2 with a 4.54 ERA. I got this off the hall of fame page on that site.
gmac17 Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 And the Yanks dont start doing to "little things" to win until the playoffs...... Yeah, those little things will definitely help them win the first playoff series. Of course we know what happens after that....no world series for the yanks, and a whole lotta "1918" chants from the fans who are a lot more pissed off than they will ever let on.....
