Mike32282 Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 The financial reality caused in large part by the NFL's failed labor talks has hit home: The Denver Broncos released three prominent players today to comply with the salary cap in time for the start of free agency. Defensive end Trevor Pryce, running back Mike Anderson and tight end Jeb Putzier all will be looking for jobs when the NFL's new year begins later this week. Getting rid of the three players will result in a total salary-cap savings of $15 million for the team, including $8.53 million for Pryce, $3.9 million for Putzier and $2.57 million for Anderson. Because of the impasse between the league and players union on an extension of the collective-bargaining agreement, teams will have less wiggle room to keep their own players, and widescale cuts are expected around the league. Denver isn't expected to release any other players this week. http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/nfl/...4506110,00.html
Thailog80 Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Mike Anderson is one tough hombre. Every time I see Putzier he's getting the snot hammered out of him.
stuckincincy Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 A moment of silence for our dearly departed millionaires would be fitting...
Mike32282 Posted March 1, 2006 Author Posted March 1, 2006 I like Putzier. He was a really good player a year ago and still made some nice plays this year. Trevor Pryce was good, but he is starting to show his age.
SDS Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Mike Anderson would be a great backup to WM. S. Williams is worthless...
Mike32282 Posted March 1, 2006 Author Posted March 1, 2006 Mike Anderson would be a great backup to WM. S. Williams is worthless... 615378 I'd take Anderson in a heartbeat! Shaud Williams SUCKS!
Beerball Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I'd take Anderson in a heartbeat! Shaud Williams SUCKS! 615384 Dual role too. Use him at FB in certain situations, that's what he was in Denver once upon a time.
Mark Long Beach Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Hell I'd take Putzier too. Both Anderson (backup/capable starter) and Putzier (starter) are WAY better than what we have now.

Buftex Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Now we need a guy like Putzier. Our TEs are awful. 615498 One gift that TD may have left us, was Kevin Everett...this kid is a diamond in the rough...if he can avoid getting injured (are all Bills TE's injury prone?), I think he could be the best TE we have seen in Buffalo in some time...plus, he got a 14 on the Wonderlic!
