Dr. Fong Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Hoooo boy. I'm willing to give Marv the benefit of the doubt, but on the surface this looks like yet another blunder at the DT position. I guess this just tells anyone drafting behind the Bills that if they want Ngata they definately have to jump ahead of the Bills.
bills_fan Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Well, that depends who else is brought in during FA.
Like A Mofo Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Well, that depends who else is brought in during FA. 615057 Big Ted?
34-78-83 Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 If an aging/overweight Sam Adams is not a fit, then why the hell would they take Washington, who's older and less mobile.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 If an aging/overweight Sam Adams is not a fit, then why the hell would they take Washington, who's older and less mobile. 615069 Money? Lets face it, if Sam Adams was only making 1 million per year as opposed to 3 million, he probably would still be a Buffalo Bill. Its funny how wrong ESPN is in terms of our salary cap. Last week we were 6 million under after the franchise tag on Nate...then we cut Mike Williams...and we're somehow down to 2 million according to ESPN's article? Way to fact-check guys...someone give them a link to Clumpy!
slothrop Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Doomed. 615021 This just in . . . we have been doomed for six years now.
tennesseeboy Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 The impression I'm getting is that they are trying to put together the biggest pool of money they can to be major players in free agency. Sam Adams is not someone I would have cut, but I'll give ML the benefit of the doubt.
Beerball Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 A Charley O. Finley-style sell-off? 615077 In a sense. Finley wanted cash for players, Bills get cap room $$$ for players.

Rico Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 If an aging/overweight Sam Adams is not a fit, then why the hell would they take Washington, who's older and less mobile. 615069 Agreed... but I bet Ted had a much better season last year, cause Sam sucked & I don't think it was all Meathead's fault... can't say for sure though, cause I didn't catch too many Raiders games.
Like A Mofo Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 This just in . . . we have been doomed for six years now. 615075 And we are doomed forever. Just look at some of the posts here
BEAST MODE BABY! Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Based on what Marv said regarding faster, lighter DT's, we won't be drafting Ngata either. I'm thinking Huff or Davis and we get a S in the 3rd, an OL in the 2nd and find our DT's in FA. Possibly another DT with our other 3rd.
BB27 Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Sure glad I bought that Sam Adams jersey last year.I can put it next to my Peca and Barnaby hockey jerseys. 615046 I bought a Jim Kelly jersey. You can always wear it, and there aren't a lot of people who will take shots at Kelly. I think cutting the fat (Adams) is probably alright. Let's see what we do in free agency, and also are they making room for Moulds?
John in VA Beach Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 You know with how underwhelming this team has been over the last few years. This is the perfect season to purge the roster and pick from a large pool of players that are being released from other teams already over the cap. Heck, I'd invite free agent lineman in make them an offer and then cut enough player to make it work if they accept.
stuckincincy Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 In a sense. Finley wanted cash for players, Bills get cap room $$$ for players. 615079 So they can get players who best fit the risk-reward value proposition model? Marv the Turk!

Rico Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Marv the Turk! 615100 I love it! KEEP CHOPPING, MARV!!!
BillsGuyInMalta Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Hmmmm I've got a feeling Sam isnt the only Bill to get the axe today...
