I've long since figured out that the multi-tool just might be a little too complex in some circles.

Shovel folds in...

Shovel folds out.

Shovel folds in...

Shovel folds out.

So, it folds in first before it folds out? This is way too confusing. :D

You want confusing?  It doesn't just fold in and out.  The head can be locked down at angles.  :D  :P  :P

Now, you are just messing with my mind. I am still working on the "folding in before folding out" thingy. :D

The Collapsible Entrenching tool has it's origins as far back as Earth's 19th Century. It's purpose is simple, to allow the Marine to 'dig in', to either fortify his/her position with earth or trenches, or dig a hole (commonly known as a 'foxhole') to hide and protect him/herself, without carrying a bulky shovel.

This tool attaches easily to the side of a Marines Pack, and is carried by all riflemen, and some officers.

As a Secondary, and more deadly option, the entrenching tool it designed to be used as an impromptu battle axe (notice the serrated edges on the right side of the head, designed for this purpose).

So, this stowable shovel (with the swivel head) is 4.5 Billion years old? :D

Wow, that's pretty cool. :D
