Astrobot Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 7-Round Draft Here's what this guy had us taking: 1-Haloti Ngata DT Oregon 2-Jonathon Scott OT Texas 3-Jason Allen S Tennessee 3-Spencer Havner LB UCLA (he goofed here--would have been ours) 4-Charlie Whitehurst QB Clemson 5-Dee Webb CB Florida 6-Charles Gordon CB Kansas St. 7-Gerald Riggs RB Tennessee I liked these picks, except for the Dee Webb pick. He's a "no-character" guy, and a no-thanks even this late. I'll take our Corners plus Charles Gordon. At RD5 I'd have taken Marvin Phillip OC Cal, Rob Sims OG Ohio St. or Julian Jenkins DE Stanford. Some of you may not have heard about Havner. He was a finalist for the Butkus Award two straight years, had 303 tackles in 3 years as a starter, and ranked second nationally in solo tackles (7.64) and seventh (tied) in total tackles (11.36) per game. He'd be a steal in Round 3B. I also like the late Gerald Riggs pick. He's a lot like McGahee in that he possesses power and speed. Nickname on the team is Seabiscuit because he, like Willis, is coming off an injury. His coach thinks he's better than Robert Edwards or Olandis Gary.
Orton's Arm Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 I don't like that draft. Only one OL, in a year with deep, rich OL quality. Those two picks in the third should both be OL.
Astrobot Posted February 28, 2006 Author Posted February 28, 2006 I love it. If we got Ngata, Scott, Allen, and Havner I'd be ecstatic.
